So this time we are talking about Fanfic - one of my favorite genres to write!

How do you pick a fanfic?

Where can you start?

For me personally, I have been an Elvis Presley fan since the age of 11. It started when my mother showed me "King Creole", then it was love at first sight! I was hooked on Elvis - his movies as well as his music.

At the age of sweet sixteen, my sister took me to Graceland (Elvis' home) for my birthday because I did not want a party. That was the best trip of my life! I still have my ticket from the tour!

In 2014, my hubby took me back for my second trip to Graceland. By then, I was already hooked on writing Elvis fanfic thanks to Wattpad! I just knew in my heart that I wanted to write a story that gave my idol a happy ending in his life. Getting off drugs. No heart attack. No divorce. Ect, Ect.

So think about what you truly love as well as really know about your favorite fandom or idol and start from there!

Pick the fandom you love the most. Look at other fanfic about that fandom to gain ideas from others for your own story. We're lucky to have access to millions of fanfics at the click of one button - I have heard way back in the day that there was fanfic written by hand!

I guess they must have shared it among friends. I'm not sure if that's true, but I believe it! Fans love fanfic! It's fun to read as well as write! It sure helped me grow as a writer. Plus, it's added more imagination to my work.

I love to write fanfic when I'm in a slump for writing my original work. It helps keep ideas flowing in my mind. Sometimes too many ideas come to me!

Fanfic is a new way of writing. Why not give it a shot? I've given it many myself. Here are all fanfics I have tried to attempt to write or I have written here on wattpad:

• Archie Comics • Elvis Presley • Johnny Cash • Ritchie Valens • Buddy Holly • The Brady Bunch • Saved By The Bell • Selena Q • Cry Baby • Johnny Depp • MJ • New Kids On The Block • Ghost Adventures • Captain America

Now of course not all of these stories are still on my Wattpad, (I've been on here since 2013!) but it really does give you a look at all the endless opportunities you can write about! Many of my ideas have come and gone. Some I tried at. Some I failed then just gave up on.

But along the way, I learned what I was really good at. I learned what I loved to write the most - and I stuck by it!

When it comes to fanfiction, sometimes you can receive hate if someone doesn't like how you portray a certain star or character they love. It's always up to you how you write them, but make sure you know your stuff. Know your star. Facts really help make a fanfic seem more real to your readers!

It truly does not matter if you are a new fan or an old fan. You can write what you love. Do what makes you happy inside!

Make your star seem what they are not. Give them a hidden life no one else saw in them. Make the story pop! And good luck! I hope this helps you start to write your perfect idea of a fanfic.
