A New Friend

Jess's POV:

As we entered band, I noticed something unusual; everyone was chatting more than

normal. "Quiet down everyone!" Mr. Magnus yelled, "as you may have noticed, we have

five new students today!" Everyone cheered. I sat down next to a new girl who was

wearing a black leather jacket and a purple shirt underneath. "Hey, I'm Jess, what's your

name?" I asked her, extending my hand out for her to shake. "The name's Holly," she

replied, shaking my hand. "ALRIGHT, ENOUGH CHIT CHAT! IT'S TIME TO PLAY!" Mr.

Magnus screamed at everyone. I rolled my eyes and brought my flute up to be played.

After a long hour of playing, it was finally time to go home. "Hey, could I hang out at your

place today?" Holly asked me. Well, she seems nice enough, I thought, although the ocelots

are coming over today... "Sure!" I said before I could process anything else. She squealed.

"There'll be some other people there, though," I quickly added, "we have a meeting thing

going on." She shrugged. "That's alright," she replied. I smiled and walked down the

hall to my locker. She followed close behind me. "Gil is driving us home today," I told her,

as I led her to the parking lot. "Who's Gil?" Holly Inquired. "He's one of my friends," I

explained, "as well as Aiden, Maya, and Lukas." She nodded. The rest of our walk was

silent. "Gil!" I screamed as I saw him. He looked around for a moment and finally found

me. "What's up Jess?" he asked. "Nothing much, I'm just bringing a new friend to our

meeting," I explained. "Hi, I'm Holly," she piped up. "Pleasure to meet you Holly," Gil

said, shaking her hand. I looked at Holly and saw a that her face was a light pink. When

we got in the back, I leaned in to whisper a question to her. "Do you like Gil?" I asked her.

She looked at me and her eyes widened. "How did you-" she started before looking up

front to make sure Gil wasn't listening. "It's kinda obvious," I laughed, elbowing her. She

blushed even more. I let out a small laugh. "The thing is... I don't think he likes me,

considering he has a Girlfriend..." Holly sighed. I patted her gently on the back. Before

I could say anything, Aiden and Lukas got in the back, while Maya got in the passenger

seat. She leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. "Hey Babe!" She squealed. "Hey Maya,"

Gil chuckled. Maya looked in the back and smirked at Holly, as if she knew that she had

a crush on Gil. Holly let out a sigh. "Ok everyone, we're here!" Gil said, getting out of the

car and walking inside, "Let the meeting begin!"
