Lukas's POV:
Ugh! Mr. Ivor's room, It's awful! I thought, plopping down in a seat next to Jess. "No
lovey dovey stuff over there, got it?" He said, looking at us. I saw her turn red, and nod,
looking away quickly. "Well somebody's a grouchy pants," I joked. She laughed, "I see
that!" She laughed with me. "AHEM!" Mr. Ivor yelled at us. "Sorry," She whimpered and
stared down. I gave him a nasty glare, and he looked suprised. "Excuse me Lukas, is there
a problem?" He asked. "Yeah, actually. There is," I replied, "You can't treat my girlfriend
with such disrespect!" He scowled at me, but didn't reply. He just turned around and sat
at his desk, and slowly sipped coffee. "Thanks Lukas," She said, giving me a slight nod. I
nodded back. "Anything for you," I told her, smiling. "ALRIGHT! DETENTION IS OVER!"
Mr. Ivor yelled at us after the hour was up, which meant that we had to go to band now.
She and I walked out and I gave her a kiss as we left, just to show Mr. Ivor that we could
do "lovey dovey" stuff as he called it. He looked at me and he was obviously mad. I walked
down the hall with Jess, passing my locker since we didn't need to get anything, or put
anything away. "Well look who decided to show up!" Mr. Magnus shouted at the class, and
looked in our direction.
Jess's POV:
"Well look decided to show up!" Mr. Magnus yelled in our direction. What?! How are we
late?! We left with enough time to spare! I thought, panicking. "If it isn't Ms. Ellegaard!" He
boomed, completely ignoring us. "Hi Maggie!" She replied, and walked up to him.
"Everyone, this is my girlfriend Ms. Ellegaard!" He said happily. The whole class stared at
him in shock. "Girlfriend?!" Everyone asked in unison, even me and Lukas. "Yeah, I'm his
girlfriend!" She told us, and started making out with him. The whole class turned away,
and various yells of "ew!" and "that's nasty!" came out. After they were done, I got in my
seat and tried not to throw up. "Alright! Everyone say goodbye to Ms. Ellegaard!" He
commanded us, but nobody said anything. "I SAID SAY GOODBYE!" He yelled at everyone.
"Bye!" Everyone yelled, obeying his order. "ALRIGHT EVERYONE, LET'S PLAY!" He
shouted, "TODAY IS THE DAY OF YOUR SOLO!"
Lukas's POV:
"TODAY IS THE DAY OF THE SOLO!" He yelled at everyone. We've been practicing for only
a week and a half, and he expected us to be able to play a solo. "FLUTES FIRST!" He
shouted, glaring in my direction. "AND I THINK I'LL START WITH..." he tries to decide,
"LUKAS!" Of course he'd pick me, after all, I am the one who struggles the most. I let out a
sigh, and play. Suprisingly, I hit all of the notes, except two. "THAT WAS AWFUL!" He
yelled at me. I sunk down in my chair and looked at him sadly. I had failed, hadn't I?
"You know what, I'll determine your grade by how well this student here does!" He says,
pointing at Jess. I stare at her. "Don't worry, I got this!" She mouths, and starts playing.
When she's finished, the whole room claps for her. She did play beautifully. I smiled at
her. "Well its safe to say that Jess has a good grade, as well as Lukas!" He shouted.
Everyone cheered for us. Jess sat down, and gave me a look of relief. I smiled at her, and
she smiled back.
Jess's POV:
Everyone was cheering, and Lukas gave me a smile. I smiled back at him.
"Hey Jess, can I talk to you for a sec?" I heard Aiden come up and ask me. "Sure Aiden," I
replied. I excused myself, and walked with Aiden to the corner. "It's about Maya," he told
me. "Yeah?" I said, not knowing what else to say, "what about her?" He sighed. "I tried
giving her another chance, and asking her out again," he told me. "Really? How'd it go?" I
asked him. He gave out another sigh. "Not so well. She's dating someone else, and that
someone... is Gil," he replied. I gasped. I never thought that she'd date someone else other
than Aiden, let alone one of his best friends. "You know what Aiden, if she can move on
that quickly, then you show her that you can too," I told him, "you deserve better." He
gave me a hug. "Thanks Jess, but I don't know anyone that I really like," he admitted. I
smiled at him."You'll know when the time comes Aiden, just... wait a while, ok?" I
responded. "Alright," he said to me, "thanks."
