"But... But... That's it! Two long days... and now two cold nights," he pouted but Dara was already out of sight. His shoulders slumped in defeat. Heaving a dejected sigh, he faced his sons and kissed them one by one. "Sorry boys... Eomma seems not in the mood tonight. But it doesn't mean appa will give up already! I promised you that I'll give you a sister! A promise is a promise!" He paused at his foolishness and chuckled at himself. "Goodnight kids." He kissed them once more before heading out.
"Baby?" he called Dara who was already in her side of the bed, lying down, an arm over her eyes. "Are you alright?"
"Hmm. I'm fine. Just a bit tired."
"Ah..." Jiyong lied down beside her pulled her arm away from her face and kissed her forehead. He felt guilty for a bit. There he was thinking of perverted things when his wife was all tired after a long week of shoot and then taking care of the him and the boys. "Sorry about earlier. I was only kidding,"
Dara opened her eyes and chuckled at him. "Liar. We both know you're not,"
"Hey, of course I mean it. I'm sorry baby."
"No. We both know you're not kidding," Dara laughed at him and soon, Jiyong was also grinning with a hint of blush on his cheeks. Dara laughed harder. "See? Gotcha!"
"Yeah. I'm guilty. I surrender. So what? Is it my fault that I am so attracted to my beautiful wife?"
"Tsch," Dara sat herself up and faced him. "Was it my fault that I was beautiful since birth? It was God-given,"
"Yeah. You are God-given," Jiyong nodded in agreement.
"You do know that that won't change my mind, don't you?"
He nodded again. "But it's not wrong to try,"
Dara rolled her eyes at him, but suddenly remembered something. "So, how's Xin and the gang? I was thinking you were gonna stay a bit longer there. It's been a while since you guys last hung out."
Jiyong shrugged and slid beside her. He sighed and smiled ahead. "Nah... I didn't feel like it."
"I told you Ji... It's fine just don't go drunk driving,"
"I don't want to, I..." he sighed. "I only have weekends with you. With us as a complete family. Without work to think about." he said but after thinking for a moment he breathed dejectedly. "Except for tomorrow. ROS crews gonna show up again."
"You're wrong. You don't have only weekends with me. You have a whole lifetime. We have," Dara looked up at him with a smile. "Jiyong-ah... Why did you allow me to go back to acting again all so suddenly when you hated the thought of making me work now that I'm your wife?"
"Huh? It's because... Uhm..." he bit his lip and thought for a moment. "It's because I know you wanna do it. And I don't want to be that selfish husband anymore that does his stuff and fulfills his dream while his wife forgot about hers in order to support him. I felt so guilty and my conscience nagged at me even at sleep. Am I making sense?"
Dara nodded. "That's exactly my point,"
Jiyong turned to her with a bemused expression.
"I don't want to be that kind of wife too. I don't want to be a controlling wife. After we got married, you rarely meet your friends. You almost started avoiding them. You handed Peaceminusone down to your staff and meet your partners what? Once, twice a year? You even stopped supporting their works, showcases and exhibits. Ji... They always reach out to you but you won't let them in. Look, let's face it. They are beyond the norms, they're not typical. They're bad ass, they're drunkards. They're weirdos. They're a bunch of party animals. But those kind of people were the only ones who stayed with us, got stuck with us when we thought we're not gonna make it. We broke up and got back a lot of times before and they're the same people who helped us get through scandals. They were there more when we needed them. They were even there when I left you,"
