because he didn't know what else he could be to her.
he wanted to be brave,
to be her knight in shining whatever,
but he was afraid.
he was afraid that she wouldn't want him.
that she would only ever want you.
but when he saw what was happening to her,
he knew he couldn't just stand by.
he was just like her,
he was exactly like her,
but she was too broken to ever notice him.
but when he saw that stranger,
who was about to hurt her,
he was the one who stopped him.
