Elise calmly looked at me “No problems, I just really want to be with you”

I smiled then sighed “then I think it’s time for you to head back”

Elise playfully raised her brow “you don’t want me here?” she asked teasingly

“Of course I do, but I don’t want to be the reason for you to fail class…”

Elise then moved closer to me and placed her palm on my head, “Silly, I’m not failing anything. Holidays are near and I already took all of my exams so no reason to panic about my grades”

“But still, I want you to at least think about going back, I don’t want anyone to think that you’re neglecting your studies because of me”

“You’re so sweet but I think I can manage being absent for a week or two” Elise said

“Still think about it okay? I’m not going anywhere, I’m just gonna be here, waiting for you”

Elise smiled and then took the carton of rice from the table and gave it to me, “Now finish your lunch, i don't want to hear you're growling stomach later” she teased

I lightly pinched her then wrapped my arms around her as Elise giggled

Elise’s POV

Charlie and I are busy cuddling on the sofa when I heard my phone’s message tone. I grabbed my phone and read the message, it was from Kylie, it said, “call me ASAP!!”

I slowly stood and Charlie looked at me questioningly, I smiled, “just going to the bathroom”

Charlie nodded and I left the room, once in the bathroom, I quickly called Kylie

“Thank goodness you called!!” Kylie spoke

“Yeah, so what’s so important?” I asked

“James came here yesterday, again.”

“And what did you say to him?”

“Still the same thing, you’re visiting you’re mom but then he started talking about how you’re not contacting him since you left and asked me if you’re angry at him or something”

“And?”

“Long story short, if you don’t get your ass here tomorrow, James is going to go there himself to see you!”

“WHAT?!” I panicked, he can’t come here, Charlie can’t know that I haven’t broken up with him yet!

“Kylie, You have to convince him to just stay there!”

“I did! But he’s mind is made up, just come back here tomorrow and stay for a week, just for show”

“Okay, I’ll leave later, I’ll be there tomorrow morning” I sighed and went back to the living room

Once there, I sat next to Charlie

Charlie then held my hand, “Are you gonna tell me what’s wrong or do I have to tickle it out of you?”

I smiled slightly, “I’m going back to college later”

“Wow, when I told you to think about it, I didn’t expect that you’ll decide that fast”

“I actually don’t want to go back but I have to” I said “Kylie called, she said I have some, um, “unfinished business” to take care of”

“Sounds important”

“It is, so I’ll be staying for a few days, are you okay with that?”

Charlie hugged me, “of course I am, just remember to call me whenever you can” she smiled “and no boys, I’m a jealous type” she joked

I giggled “of course, and no Jasmine for you”

Charlie laughed and nodded

I stared at Charlie, I still can’t believe how lucky I am to have Charlie and I’m so stupid for letting her just be my friend for years when she could have been more

I touched Charlie’s cheek, leaned in and kissed her sweet lips, when we parted, Charlie looked at me with pink cheeks

I smiled “I love you”

“I love you too” and Charlie smiled

Late in the afternoon, I said goodbye then I told my mom that I’m going back. so I packed up my stuff. Mom gave me a tight hug before I headed out. When I got outside, I was surprised to see Charlie there

Charlie stood with a smirk, “To answer your question, what kind of a future girlfriend am I if I let my girl leave on her own? So here I am”

I smiled, “I’m starting to get use to this “my girl” couple name we have here”

“Good, ‘cause I’m pretty sure we’ll be using that soon”

I scoffed playfully and handed her my bag, “Let’s go”

Charlie then took my hand and we walked to the bus stop together with our hands intertwined

walking together hand in hand is just a small gesture but it means a lot to me, just being with her makes me so happy!
