Chapter Three

Charlie’s POV

As soon as we entered the apartment, Jasmine came running and quickly embraced me

“I miss you so much C!” Jasmine exclaimed

“Jasmine?” I reacted “what are you doing here?”

But before Jasmine can answer, a familiar guy came in and hugged Elise

“Hey cutie” he said and kissed Elise’s lips

Elise smiled “what brings you here James?”

“Nothing, just couldn’t stay away from you” he answered “oh by the way, this is Jasmine, my younger sister, she came to visit me and she kinda wanted to meet you”

Jasmine, still holding my hand, looked at Elise and gave her a smile “Hi! Nice to finally meet my brother’s girlfriend”

What I heard sent a painful strike to my chest, she really does have a boyfriend and not just any guy, it’s James, Jasmine’s brother

James's gaze moved from Elise to me, he then flashed me a smile

“Oh hey Charlie! I didn’t see you there” he said “What are you doing here?”

“Hey James” I greeted “I’m, uh, visiting Elise, she’s a very close friend of mine“

“Really?” James reacted

And Jasmine turned to me “I didn’t know you personally know James’s girlfriend”

I took a quick glance at Elise

“Yeah, well, I kinda didn’t know that James is Elise's boyfriend” I plainly answered “because she hasn’t mentioned it to me yet” I lied

“Hmm, small world, right Charlie?” Jasmine said

“Yeah…” I sadly looked at Elise but she avoided looking back

Jasmine then decided that it would be a good idea to leave the love birds for a bit and stroll around “our” future university, so she said goodbye and pulled me outside and we started walking to the university

Jasmine excitedly pulled me inside the university campus and we started walking around, all the while, she has her hand intertwined with mine

Jasmine was telling me something but my mind was somewhere else..

Why did she lied about having a boyfriend? She knows she could tell me anything…

“Hey! Earth to Charlie?” Jasmine spoke as she waved her hand in front of me

“Hmm? What did you say again?” I asked

Jasmine gave me a disapproving look “have you been listening to anything I’ve just said?”

“Yeah, well kinda..” I shyly admitted

“What are you thinking about C? you’re so distracted, is there something wrong?”

“No, nothing’s wrong, I’m just tired, can we just head back?”

“yeah, of course…”

We then made our way back to the apartment

After Charlie and Jasmine left, I quickly asked James “How did you know Charlie?”
