Ava's POV

"Oh come on, your turning eighteen tonight! Let's go have some fun!" Thea pleaded.

"Fine but only, because you've been asking me for like two hours now!" I say sounding exhausted.

"Whatever! I know you want to come, and who knows you might find you mate!" Thea squealed.

"Your right, I swear if he is from a different pack I will most likely die or if he is someone from our pack I will probably kill myself!" I laugh.

"So you think your one and only love is a human?" Thea joked.

"If he is, he sure will have a hard time fitting in." I laugh.

"Oh my god, if your mate is a human watching him would be so funny and you dad would probably freak out." Thea said.

"Oh my gosh, my dad would probably make me reject him." I respond laughing.

"You're so right, I'll be at your house to get ready as soon as I can." Thea said before she hung up. I put the phone down and try and pick out the dress I want to were tonight. I picked a long sleeve red dress, that went down about a few inches above my knees, and some black high heals. After that I did my hair in a fishtail braid, down the left side of my head.

After, all that Thea showed up. She got dressed and we put our makeup on. Then we were off to celebrate my eighteenth birthday. Of course Thea was thrilled that I was turning eighteen, but I was a different story. I knew that meant that I would find my mate and I was becoming the alpha very soon. This was just something I didn't want, especially right now. I mean most girls my age would be enjoying life, but me not so much my life, it just gets completely turned around. I will be in charge of a pack and I've seen how cranky my dad got after a long day, it is not a pretty sight to see.

-- At the club --

Ava's POV

"Why did we have to go to a club not in our territory?" I wined.

"Stop whining!" Thea said laughing.

"Ok for real why couldn't you just take me to a club in our territory?" I ask frustrated.

"Just relax, we will have fun no mater where we are. And who knows you might even find your mate here?" Thea says teasing me.

"Ugg if he is a human or from a different pack my father would probably go crazy especially if he was from Black Night." I say dramatically.

"Ok we are here, now loosen up." she says as we both get out of the car and hook arms and walk in. Its really crowded I smell lots of humans and wolves from other packs, but there is a smell that really sticks out to me. I think it might be the drinks though, but it smells so warm and I want to find what it is so my mind doesn't blow up from trying to find the smell. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing I just smell something really sweet" I responded back.

"Really I don't smell anything?" Thea looked confused, "Want a drink?"

"Um sure," I say still looking and smelling around.

"What kind?" Thea asked.

"I don't care, suprize me" I say this already know what I'm going to get. "I'll go get us a table."

As I walk by a group of boys the smell gets stronger but I ignore it because I know who they are. The Black Night. Oh how my pack hates them. When I become the Alpha of my pack I plan on taking them down.

The smell is getting stronger and I can barely hold my wolf in for attacking whatever the smell is. Just in time I see Thea come with our drinks. I look at her and she gives my a funny look, but I ignore it.

"You seem different" she says suspiciously.

"Like how" I ask.

"Well first, your right eye is twitching and you smell different!" She says with excitement.

"It might me the the Black Night is here and I'm about to go and kill one," I say angerly.

"Oh well I think that's why your smell has changed a lot, but it reminds me of when my sister Emily found her mate," she says obviously dreaming of the day she found her mate.

"If I really found my mate wouldn't I want to be close to him," I say raising my voice.

"Hey just calm down. Do you want to go dance?" Thea asks me.

"Sure, it should get my mind off the mate thing," I say getting up.

We started to dance but Thea soon leaves me for a man who is obviously a human. I really don't know what she sees in humans. As I dance alone the sent I smelled earlier was moving tords me. I wanted to find it but, I keeped telling myself that it was just some achohal.

But then if feel this long arms wrap around my waist. I fell a long for his touch on my skin. No, no I don't long for his touch, I need his touch. I need him.

I can't smell if he's human or not but need to know his face. I turn around and I see him. The last person in the solar system I want to be my mate. Tyler Winters the next in line for ALPHA for the Black Night.

I step back but he pulls me closer. I know what this means. This is basically the end on my life, now that he is my mate. I even wonder if my father will still want me to be his daughter or the next alpha for Moonshine.  This has just completely ruined my life.
