The Tree House

Since Josie left us i've never gone into my backyard because behind that wooden fence is the most beautiful forest that you will ever see. Myself, Josie, Luke, Kayla and Mathew went back there when we were 7. We went in as a 5 but came back as a 4. No one wanted to help us on this case, no one would dare to go behind that fence and into the woods. One brave girl who was 8 at the time went in but she too never came back. What dark secrets lurk in those woods? Who was there? Were they still alive? Now we're all 17 and we've decided to go back in there and find Josie. We were on a mission, even though it was 10 years down the track we vowed to finish this mission and find Josie. Ten years ago we were all playing in my backyard when Kayla fell off the trampoline and hit her head on the sixth fence, it broke off and a small glimpse of the beautiful flowers and trees were revealed. We were in awe and broke off the fifth fence to jump into the forest land, we walked through the forest path that was surprisingly visible, Luke liked Josie at the time and went to pick up some flowers for her and when Josie went to find something for him but she never came back. It was getting dark and we had waited so long for her we had no choice but to leave her, we were 7 and had no instinct to go and find her. I regret that every day of my life. 

The famous foursome arrived at my house and we were determined to get back in there. We packed camping gear, clean clothes, guns, water, food, a tent, torches, matches, GPS trackers, tracking devices, compasses, hats and waterproof jumpsuits. My heart was racing and as i stepped onto forbidden ground i felt sick and like i was about to faint. I put my hand on my heart and wiped back a few tears before Kayla gave me a hug and we walked back into a time frame when we were 7 years old. We all held hands and walked through the now mossy path that led into the dark parts of the forest. As we were walking i couldn't help notice that the further we walked into the forest the more alive it seemed, even the path was becoming more and more clearer, the flowers that i had never seen were becoming visible and the forest became less of a forest but more a dream. 

It was not long before we were in the heart of the forest, literally the heart. The path that was just a line had joined up with other paths in the middle and formed a heart. There were signs now, signs for each path in a different language one that neither of us could understand. We decided to go to the right path as we all remembered what Josie used to say "My mum said to always go right" In hopes we would find something we went right. 

Walking through the first parts of the right path we were surrounded by darkness and overgrown plants but as we kept walking a miracle occurred. There were massive trees, with doors in them! Oh and windows, there were a whole bunch of fireflies that were kept in jars and had plants to hide them. It was incredible, just like magic. We were 7 again, we had that twinkle in our eyes as if we had seen the forest for the first time but that came to an end when Kayla started screaming, we tried to look for her but we saw nobody in that place she was originally standing. We started to panic "CHARLOTTE DO SOMETHING, WE CAN'T LOSE ANOTHER ONE" Matthew started screaming "SHE'S MY GIRLFRIEND, I CAN'T LOSE HER, PLEASE BRING HER BACK" But it all seemed so distant. Before i knew it i was standing on my own. My heart was about to explode, i could feel it. Then something swooped me up and "HELP!"
