I wake up to someone tapping my nose. I wrinkle it and open my eyes, Eva stands above me. I sit up.
"What are you doing here?" I ask
"It's like 4:00 pm. I didn't have that bad of an injury. The doctors said I could be released. You parents picked me up." Eva says
"Oh." I say
"Yeah well anyway get up." Eva says
I stretch and climb out of bed.
"So..are you still mad at me?" Eva asks
"I guess not." I say smiling
"Good! I don't want that hanging over my head." She says
"Are we still...a thing?" I ask
"Well... I'm not sure." Eva says turning away
I can detect a slight change in her tone.
"What's wrong?" I ask
"After my parents heard about the incident.. they want me to stay here for awhile." She says
"Oh. How come?" I ask
"They don't think it's safe for me to travel by bus anymore. They said they would come and get me sometime but that might be awhile..." she says
"Oh." I say
"Yeah.." Eva says
"Let's go downstairs." I say
"Ok." Eva says
We walk downstairs together. Harvey sits at the table.
"Oh Max you're awake." Harvey says
"Yeah.." I say trailing off
"Let's go outside." Eva says pulling me away from Harvey
"Ok.." I say
We step outside into the open air.
"Come on." Eva says
She pulls me to the tree me and Harvey climb.
"Let's climb." Eva says as her eyes widen
"Ok." I say
She stars climbing. I follow behind her, she moves quickly.
"Where are we going?" I ask
"To the top! You can see everything from up there." Eva says
"Ok then." I say
Eva keeps moving swiftly. I have a hard time keeping up with her. I move more quicker to keep up. I stop and look down, we're pretty high up. I take a deep breath and keep climbing. All of the sudden I lose my footing. Everything happens so fast. I start falling to the ground. I hit the ground hard.
"MAX!" Is all I hear before I black out.
