Texting the Ghosts || Max and Harvey Fanfiction

         Eva and I walk along the streets trying to find Harvey and Anisa. Eva walks slow, which makes me worry.
"We need to get you food." I say
Eva nods. I stop at a trash bin.
"Oh no way." Eva says
"Eva please. You're starving, you need food." I say
"Fine." She says
I dig through the bin, I find a barely touched apple. I bite the bitten part off and spit it on the ground.
"Here." I say and hand her the apple.
She takes it without argument. I keep walking.
"Max I'm tired. And I still feel sick." Eva says
I stop and turn around.
"Ok. Let's stop and rest." I say
I take a seat against a building. Eva sits next to me, she slowly bites her apple.
"Do you think Tom's still after us?" She asks
I shrug. I start to drift off to sleep.

        I wake up the next morning early. I look next to me and I don't see Eva. I stand up quickly.
"Eva?" I call
No reply.
"Eva?!" I call again.
No answer. I start running down the street.
"Eva??!?" I call
Still no answer. Someone's hand touches my shoulder, I spin around. A girl stands there.
"Who are you?!" I ask backing away.
"Max. It's me." She says
"Me who?!" I ask
"Hayley." She says
"What how?!" I ask
"I'm a ghost Max." She says
"What do you want??" I ask
"Max, Harvey. You need to find him." She says
"What's wrong with Harvey??" I ask frantically
"You need to find him. I can't explain much but you need to find him." Hayley says
I nod.
"What-what about Eva?!" I ask
"Once you find Harvey you'll find her." Hayley says
I nod in confusion. Hayley disappears. I shake my head and start running again. I decided to try Tom's first. I stop at his door and start banging on it.
"LET ME IN!" I yell
The door opens, I burst in. I scan the room.
"Where are they?" I ask bitterly
"You'll never find out." He says
I run into another room, no ones there.
"Where are they?!" I yell
Tom smirks. I bang open another door, I stop short. Eva lays there with breathing tubes and all sorts of things.
"What did you do??" I ask
"I found her last night wandering around the city. She's sick Max. Really sick, If I hadn't found her she would've died. Honestly." Tom says.
He sounds sincere.
"Will she be ok?" I ask looking at him
He nods.
"She'll be ok." He says
"Then how come you told me I couldn't find them?" I ask
He shrugs.
"I know it's hard for you to see your girlfriend hurt like this." He says
I look back at Eva. She's so pale.
"What about Harvey?" I ask
Tom motions me to another room. He opens the door and I see Harvey laying there.
"Is he ok?" I ask
"Yeah. I found him by himself." Tom says
"Where's Anisa?" I ask
Tom shrugs. He closes the door.
"Why are you being so nice?" I ask
"Look Max, I can't really say much but I see how much these people mean to you and well, I don't want to see them die." Tom says
I nod.
"You can crash here until your friends get better." He says
"Um thanks." I say
Tom leads me to a room. I collapse down on the bed. Maybe Tom has a good side.
