The young lady gave a look at the lighthouse and wondered how Alex managed to climb up to this tall building. It must have been exhausting. She opened the door and found a spiral staircase, she made a deep breath and started climbing up the stairs. As she draws near to the top she saw Alex's shadow walking back and forth. She hurried herself to see if the young master was okay. She was surprised to see a bedroom-like place but everything was old and a bit dusty. She saw another staircase leading up to the deck itself.
The young master halted herself and felt someone else was there with her, "I can't see you, but I know you're there."
"I... I came here to apologize for what happened last time."
The young master smirked and walked towards an old wooden chair and sat on it. She crossed her arms on her chest and crossed her legs as well to remind Elise what she did to her feet, "Well, well, well... Miss Elizabeth... what a pleasant surprise."
"Like I said, I came here to apologize and not to turn this place upside down."
Alex's smirk faded away and turned it into something more serious. She stood up and walked towards the young lady, "Are you threatening me?"
"That depends..."
The young master's mouth twitched as she made a deep breath, "Leave... Now..." said Alex in a low husky voice.
The young lady sighed and scratched her head, "Look, Alex, I really wanted to apologize for what happened last time. I didn't mean to lash out like that..."
"Oh? How so? As I recall... you told my father that I deserved it before storming out." Alex stepped forward as if to intimidate the young lady. She could feel Elise's breath and she knew their faces were almost touching.
The young lady felt uncomfortable but stood her ground to let the young master know that she was not intimidated. "You know what... one more step and I'll smack your face."
Alex broke a laughter and said, "I believe my face is used to being slapped all the time and because of that it became numb." She teased the young lady and moved a little bit closer. Now their lips were almost touching.
Elise's eyes widen and her hands was eager to strike the young master, "If you kiss me, I'll kill you." she whispered. However, the young master didn't moved. They were both serious. The scene looked like they were about to kiss as the young lady's heart was beating fast.
But suddenly, Alex broke character and laughed hysterically. "Oh God! I wish I could see the look on your face." she then laughed again.
The young lady flogged the young master in irritation, "That's not funny, Alex! You prick!"
Alex couldn't stop laughing and was almost out of breath, "You really think," she laughed again, "that I would kiss you?"
"Shut up!" she grabbed a pillow and hit Alex again and again. "Ugh! I hate you! Why would I kiss someone like you?"
"Ouch! Alright, alright... I'm sorry..." Alex hinted another laughter but she restrained herself.
Elise made a deep sigh and sat on the creaking bed. "I don't know what else to do with you. What's your deal? Why are you acting like this? Especially to your father... He loves you and he wanted to reconnect with you but you won't let him. Why?"
Alex's smile disappeared and became more serious, she followed Elise's voice and sat next to her, "You don't know anything about me and my dad. So just let it go. There's nothing you and I can do to change the past."
"What happened?"
Alex bowed down her head and leaned her hands against her knees, "Nothing..."
Elise placed her hand on top of Alex's hand, "I'm sure that nothing isn't just nothing."
"Pfft... You sounded like-" Alex stopped herself and crossed her eyebrows.
"Sounded like who?"
"Nothing..."
"There you go again with your nothing. Sounded like who? Your lover?" Eureka! That was it. Alex had lost someone near and dear to heart making her blind from all of this. "She broke your heart didn't she?"
"Quit it..."
"That's it... someone broke your heart that's why you're grouchy all the time."
"That's none of your business. Get out of here! Leave me alone!" Alex stood up and brushed her hair up irritably.
The young lady stood up as well with her hands on her waist, "Alex, you have to stop pushing people away. You really need to talk to someone about this. Get it of your system."
Alex massaged her temples, just like her father whenever they're confronted with stress, "It's not what you think..."
Elise went out of her way and rubbed Alex's back, "Hey... It's okay. You can talk to me about it. I promise I won't tell anyone... even your father. But you have to speak up... A lot people here are worried about you... good people who wants to help you."
Alex turned around and faced the young lady with an enraged look on her face, "You know nothing about my life! Don't lecture me with your goody goody voice! Who are you anyway? You think you can just come in here and change people's lives? Huh? You're just an assistant... why don't you put your head in your work and stop bugging me!"
The young lady hissed, "Ha! So maybe that's why your lover left you! I mean look at you, you look like this walled up spoiled prick! She was better off without you! Pfft! Besides... who would love someone like you who doesn't even care for others except for yourself?"
Alex grabbed hold of Elise's arm, "You take that back!"
Elise broke free from Alex's grip, "No! 'Cause it's true! Is it not?"
Alex turned away as she clenched her jaw. She sat herself in corner and buried her head in between her knees. The young lady once again felt sorry for Alex. She knew her words were too harsh. She just couldn't stop herself from yelling at her. She walked towards the young master and knelt in front of her.
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to..."
"You're right..." Alex's hands clamped together and was breathing heavily, "She was better off without me. Sometimes... I wish we hadn't met, in that way, I could have saved her from all of this..."
Elise wanted to question Alex but she stopped herself, afraid that it would stir up another fight. She sat beside her and stayed quiet.
Night came and Elise decided that they should head home. However...
"No... It's locked. How can the door be locked???" Elise turned to Alex with a lot of panic, "How are we gonna get out of here?"
Alex grunted, "Mr. Bello must have locked it by mistake."
"You don't have any spare key with you?"
The young master hissed at Elise, "If I did, we should be walking out of here in no time."
"No... No... No... I left my bag in the mansion. My cellphone is there. I can't spend the night here with you! Do you have a phone?"
Alex scrunched her eyebrows and shook her head, "Really?"
"Don't blind people use phones? I saw it in a show once..."
Alex sighed and scratched her head, "C'mon, Miss Elizabeth... Let's go back up. We'll spend the night here." she grabbed Elise's hand and went back up to living quarters. "Don't worry. Mr. Bello will come by here tomorrow to check on the deck."
"B-but... where are we gonna sleep?"
"Are you stupid or something? We'll sleep on the bed!"
"Together?"
Alex slumped herself on the bed and rolled over to give the young lady some room to sleep. She grinned and signaled Elise to lay down beside her, "Its either this or you sleep on the floor."
Elise rolled her eyes and lay down with Alex, "This bed is too small for us..."
"Good night, Elizabeth."
"It's Elise."
