It was a clear, shady October night.
Kids dressed as monsters and monsters dressed as kids parade around me, gathering as much candy and sweets as their little plastic pumpkins can hold.

For crap's sake, I have got to stop speaking in poetry like that.

Let's start at the beginning. My name is (y/n). Tonight is Halloween, and everyone who loves me thinks I'm at home giving out candy to costume-clad little kids.
Yeah..... We could say that.
My parents are at a Halloween party thrown only for adults, and my (sibling{s} name) is with their friends. I put on my own costume and just walked out.
I'm aimlessly traipsing around the neighborhood, alone, actually wishing I was with them.
Suddenly, something in your head tells you to turn onto the next street.
Can't be worse than this, can it, you think sarcastically.
You walk up the sidewalk and down the next street. It's the same sight.
Annoyed with yourself, you don't see the two skeletons in your path until you bump right into them.

You fall backwards onto the hard pavement, completely triggered.
"Gosh, I'm so clumsy. I'm really sorry...." you mumble, embarrassed now as well. You happened to have walked into a tall skeleton with a red scarf.
"OH! ARE YOU ALL RIGHT?" he asks worriedly. He offers a hand to you to help you up. "I'M SORRY, I DID NOT SEE YOU!"
You are startled by this boy's instant kindness. "Oh no... It's not your fault. I wasn't looking where I was going...." you say quietly. You can't really see them as the shadows of the night conceal most of their bony faces.
Cool costumes.
A shorter boy also dressed as a skeleton appears from behind the taller one.
"hey, would you happen to know what's going on around here? we're, uh, kinda confused." he said to you.
You look at them strangely, with a funny look on your face that makes them laugh. Feeling better than you have around boys in a long time, you answer their question.
"Um, it's Halloween. Everyone is trick-or-treating right now."
"oh. thanks, kitty." the shorter boy says, referring to your midnight cat costume.
(Sorry if that's not what you want to be, but it'll play a big part in the story with your relationship with Sans)
"No problem." you reply.
"ARE YOU WITH ANYONE?" the taller skeleton inquires. "ARE YOU TRICK-OR-TREATING TOO?"
You sigh quietly. "N-no, actually. I'm not. I'm by myself right now." Caught spilling your feelings to two boys you didn't know, you stopped yourself from talking anymore so you wouldn't say something stupid.
"WELL, WE WILL GO WITH YOU, THEN!" the taller skeleton announces. "LET'S GO!"
As he pulled you along to the nearest house, the shorter skeleton whispers in your ear.
"sorry about that. my bro gets really excited sometimes. he's the coolest."
You smile. You really do think the skeleton brothers are cool. And the taller one's energy seems to run off on you. You take the little skeleton's hand and all run off to trick-or-treat together.
