Chapter 1: A City of Darkness

I broke rules. I never wanted to be ruled by a monster government. I never wanted to be a rebel. All I wanted was freedoms.

I was bossed around, I was told to do this or that.

Three things you should know about me.
1: I never listen
2: I don't follow rules
3: I don't fear monsters

The last one is surprising. Most human in Staro are afraid of big walking zombies on the streets. Not this girl. It's mostly due to my past.

My dad was part of the original government. The human kind, before the monsters. That government was murdered and replaced by monsters. My mom was cut down right in front of me two years ago. Ever since then I've hated monsters.

I sat on my balcony watching the busy streets below. I missed the sun rises. The skyscrapers blocked my view. I watched as a monster shoved some innocent people around.

I clenched my fists so tight that my hands were turning white. If I hadn't I would've jumped over the edge of this metal railing and started attacking that monster.

The monster love to push us around. They think that we are their severances.

I walked into my apartment and shut my balcony doors. Enough spectating. I began to do some house chores.

Then I got ready for my meeting with a member of the anti rebel group or ARG for short.

There was a knock at the door. I opened it to find myself face to face with a 18 year old woman.

"So what do you want?" I asked.

The woman looked at me and made eye contact. Most people don't even look at you more or less make eye contact.

"I'm not from the ARG. I'm from a different organization," she whispered and handed me a card. "You have the makings of a good rebel. Your dad was part of the government, yes?" I nodded "And your mom..." I froze how did she know about my mom. "She started this. They're on to you. They'll invite you to go to a collage were they can monitor your every move. Go ahead and get pushed around by monsters the rest of your life or pack your stuff and meet me at the top floor at 5:00." She turned and left.

She left me with a card that read:
Tracy K. Smith
AMO
Recruiting agent.

I was left with a chaos. There were so many questions that were left unanswered.
