(A/N) (Grace: I do not own Soul Eater. If i did, Death the Kid would get depressed very easily. All I own is the fish)
(Remember, Don't take this seriously...)
Stein's foot tapped against the stone floor tiles on the floor of his classroom. He was irritated because Kidd was late to class today. Why was he always late? Death knows. He looked around the classroom, examining the bored students. "Alright class. I guess we will get started without Kidd and his weapons." Stein turned and started writing on the chalk board. Today he didn't dissect anything, mainly because he couldn't find a subject.
The door to the classroom slowly opened with a confused Liz and a happy Patty. Stein turned to them. "Were is your meister?" He asked, annoyed. "He's..." Liz paused for a second. "Having some, emotional problems." There was a lot of confusion in her voice. Maka perked up when she heard this. "What do you mean?" She asked worryingly.
"Something close to him died" She said, calmly, and took a seat next to Soul and Maka. Maka's eyes widened, in shock. "Is he okay?" She whispered to Liz. Liz stared at Maka with a blank expression. "no" she replied back. Stein sat down backwards in his chair and decided to excuse Kidd from class, because of his situation.
Maka looked at Liz with a concerned expression. "Were is he now?" She asked impatiently. Liz stared at her nails and replied, "He's in the manor, at the funeral." She calmly said while pulling out a small bottle of nail polish. "He's all alone? At a funeral!?" She whisper shouted to Liz. Liz nodded her head, and started painting her nails, a dark pink color.
Maka stood up, alerting Soul. "What are you doing?" He asked, leaned back in his seat with his eyes closed. He was probably trying to sleep. "I'm going to check on Kidd." She looked at him with a worried expression. "Go back to your nap, Soul." With that, he sat up. "What are you talking about? Wherever you go, I go" He said back to her.
Maka stood up, and attempted leaving the room, when Stein stopped her from walking past the door. "Where are you going?" He asked her, in his scary tone. "I feel sick. I'm heading to the nurse." She replied blankly. "Uhh.... me too" Soul said behind her. Maka scoffed, since he didn't even pretend like he was actually sick. Stein nodded. "Fine. Get out of here." Of course, Stein knew where they were actually going, but he let them go, being worried for Kidd himself.

Maka walked up the small staircase leading to the Gallows Manor. She shot Soul a death glare. "Don't say anything you'll regret." She warned him, holding up a hard covered book. Soul put his hands up in defense. "Okay, okay! I'll be good!" Maka turned away, and knocked on the tall, black and white door. She knocked eight times, and she did that for a reason.
But nobody answered it.
She patiently waited for minuets, but Soul was getting annoyed. "He doesn't want us here. Lets go to class or something." Maka turned around to face him. "YOU can leave. I'm staying here for as long as it takes" Maka said, in a determined voice. Soul put his arms behind his head. "Whatever" he said.
Soul walked past Maka and threw the door open. "What are you doing? That's breaking and entering!" Maka yelled at him. Soul rolled his eyes. "Oh, come on. This is Kidd were talking about. I bet he's fine with anything we do, as long as it isn't 'asymmetrical'" Soul showed air quotations with his fingers. Maka sighed, and followed her 'cool' partner into the massive home.
"He is at a funeral, Right?" Soul asked Maka. "That's what Liz said." Maka looked around the perfect home. Symmetrical. Of course. How long was he into symmetry? Only Death knows... They both agreed to split up and look for Kidd around the house. Maka looked everywhere, but couldn't find Kidd in the symmetrical manor. There was not one flaw, except one. He had two fish tanks full of gold and black colored fish. He had two to balance the home, with eight fish in one, but seven in the other.
Kidd hated the number seven. Eight was always the most symmetrical number there was. Maka continued through the house, until she reached a large door. The door was taller then the others in the house. An exit? Maka thought to herself. She slowly pushed the door open, to see a garden of black roses, with white lines across the sides. Huh, she thought. Just like his hair
Then, she saw him. Kidd was sitting in the middle of the garden, with his hair blocking his eyes. Maka called out to him, but he didn't respond. She slowly walked towards him, and put her hand on his shoulder. Kidd jolted up, startled by her. He quickly turned his head, and once he saw Maka, his face changed from a shocked, to a sad expression.
He turned away from Maka, hiding his eyes with his bangs. She stared at him. "Are you okay Kidd?" Kidd did not respond. "Liz told me somebody died." For a second time, Kidd turned to face Maka. Maka could finally see his face, his cheeks tear stained. After staring at her emerald eyes for a few seconds, he looked down. "yeah..." He replied quietly
"Who died?" Maka asked Kidd. Kidd looked down at the dirt. "One of my fish." A huge animated sweat drop appeared above Maka's head. Huh...?! "Your.... Fish....? Since when did you care about fish so much...?" Maka asked confused. Kidd stared at her. "The symmetry!" Kid yelled at her. "How hard is it for you to understand!? I had eight fish in two tanks each! And then one of them died! What wrong did it do!? Why does something so beautifully Symmetrical just... DIE OFF like that!?"
By now, tears were streaming from his eyes. He REALLY cared for symmetry. Just get a new one... She thought to herself, but she didn't say anything, knowing that wouldn't be the solution to this. She looked at him with a stern expression. "Kidd, everything and everyone needs to die eventually. No matter how symmetrical it is." Kidd looked at her, with a heartbreaking expression on his face. "But WHY!?" He screamed at her.
Maka pulled the symmetry obsessed meister into a hug, and softly said, "I don't know, but the best thing to do is live on without them. Sometimes we just have to deal with things like this." Kidd nodded his head, and stood up. "Why aren't you in class?" He asked Maka, confused. "I was worried about you" She told him, with a soft smile.
