Tera climbed to the top of what used to be the biggest hotel in the city.

She swore under her breath as she cut her palm on a piece of glass hidden under a panel of laminate flooring.

With one last haul Tera rests 'comfortably' perched on the edge of the hospital looking down at what she knew as a kid to be the, "Big city."

Her whole childhood she just wanted to live in an apartment in the big city with the husband and kids she will never get to have.

Now that she has almost reached adulthood, all she wants is to be alive and semi healthy.

Tera snaps out of her thoughts about her foolish childhood fantasies, and observes the broken city around her in search for any sign of life.

She tries to keep herself from looking to the street corner and remembering, remembering her father who is dead and her mother who she considers dead.

But no matter how hard she tried to resist her eyes darted over the old ice cream parlor with a heavy heart.

Normally on a patrol such as this she would report the same thing in her old stolen leather bound notebook:

Day 437: no change.

But just as she moved to grab her pen she noticed movement out of the corner of her eye and saw a pair of erie blue eyes staring at her every move...
