Winifred Lillian Baker is my name. This is my story. I've never been a girly girl, but I don't think I've ever totally been a tomboy either; if anything I'm more of a tomboy. My parents were only eighteen when I was born, but we made do. I was born on October 13, 1949.
Throughout elementary school, I was known as the quiet smart girl who did her homework. I was quiet because I had a huge fear of being incorrect and so the others would make fun of me.
My younger sister, Margaret Rebecca Baker, came into our world on February 23, 1952. She was more of the girly girl than any other person I've ever known. It was insane how different we were.
My younger brother, Aaron Noah Baker, came into our world on June 6, 1955. He was an interesting little boy growing up. Since Maggie and him were closer in age, they played together more; in which with him showed more of a female influence. They played dolls together. Dolls. While I played sports with the neighbourhood boys.
My youngest sister, Tabitha Stephanie Baker, came into our world on November 29, 1959. She was a handful. She was a bit of both of Maggie and I. She played soccer with me, but also played dolls with Maggie. She was as stubborn as an old tree stump.
Now last but not least, my youngest brother, Leonard Theodore Baker, he was born on August 16, 1963. He was greatly influenced by Aaron since every little boy loves his big brother in any way possible. But he still found time to join in soccer games with Tabitha, Aaron, and myself.
So my life was a little different. Being the oldest child of five really shows. I had to be strong in every bad scenario or my family would fall apart. Or so I thought.
But living across the street was the boy every girl had a crush on, and honestly I was too nervous to say anything. Who needs talking in person when his mother approaches you every time she sees you. Y'all learn a lot from that by the way. Anyways let's start from the very beginning.
