"A star fell from the sky." The Master's voice echoed into the room over a Tannoy. Both occupants looked up and around the room, surprised by the sudden disturbance. "Don't you want to know where from?" He asked again, "Because now it makes sense, Doctor. The whole of my life. My destiny... The star was a diamond." The Master spoke softer now, but his words rung out clear. "And the diamond... Is a whitepoint star."

The Doctor let out an inaudible gasp, horror and shock being his only emotions. "And I have worked all night to sanctify that gift. Now the star is mine. I can increase the signal and use it as a lifeline. Do you get it now? Do you see? Keep watching, Doctor. This should be... Spectacular." The Master suddenly grinned, "Over and out." He finished, and the signal was cut.

"What's he on about? What's he doing? Doctor, what does that mean?" Wilfred rushed, concerned yet frightened by the look on The Doctor's face. "A whitepoint star is only found on one planet," He breathed heavily, "Gallifrey. Which means... It's the Time Lords. The Time Lords are returning." Wilfred soon became confused.

"Well, that's a good thing, isn't it? That's your people." Wilfred tried reasoning with him, but The Doctor speedily reached down and grabbed the gun, clutching it firmly. He stared at it with an unreadable expression, until it slowly turned into determination. Wilfred sat, stunned, as The Doctor ran out of the room.

Kayla had begun to stir from her sleep, and reached up to rub her throbbing forehead. Her eyes fluttered open, and she blinked a few times to readjust herself. There was the sound of squeaking shoes, clinks of weapons and orders being called from the Time Lord himself. Kayla frowned and stood up slowly, pushing off of the wall.

"Open up the nuclear bolt. Infuse the power lines to maximum." The Master commanded as Kayla slowly approached him. She froze, however, when clicks sounded from all around, and the guards formed a circle around her, aiming their guns. The Master turned his head in her direction slightly, raised his hand and let it drop.

He proceeded to admire the diamond in his hand. The guards went back into their previous positions, and Kayla, once again, slowly approached him. "What's that?" Kayla dared to ask, and looked for his reaction to her inching toward it. "A whitepoint star." He mumbled in response, glancing at her.

"Nuclear bolt accelerating, sir." One of the Tech-Master's said, making The Master nod and walk past Kayla to a device he had built. "Send the signal back and the link becomes a pathway." He spoke to nobody in particular, placing the small diamond into the device. Kayla let out a gasp, watching as the machine lit up and pulsed out a four beat rhythm. It was all she could hear, each beat seemingly more powerful than the last.

But... It wasn't like before. Instead of passing out, memories hit her instead. The time when she had heard the same beat, with Martha and Jack, when they first found out about Harold Saxon. Snap. Just like that another memory hit her, her argument with Jack, hearing the same rhythm yet again when speaking with The Doctor after.

Then she stopped breathing.

She was outside, it was snowing. She could hear herself giggle and laugh, a familiar voice there too. Her heart faltered, shattering all over again. It was when she had kissed him. When she heard the rhythm, when it pounded against her skull. Then when it had suddenly vanished, once their lips had connected. It was so real, it looks so real...

Kayla finally was released from her torture, and she felt with disdain a tear fall. She had buried them away for so long- too long to be healthy. She desperately wiped away the tear with the back of her hand, putting on a firm expression. The Master hadn't noticed her sudden change of mood, so she thought, but instead looked through the glass roof. This was his purpose, it always was... It had to be. "Come home." He breathily whispered, closing his eyes.
