"Scott? Did you hear that?" Charlotte whisper-yelled as she stuck her head into her brothers room. The young McCall was simply reading in their room when a large thumping sound made her jump, instantly becoming alert.

Their mother had left hours before, taking yet another night shift at the hospital. School was starting tomorrow, and Charlotte made the promise to herself to balance out school and work, so she could make a contribution to the incoming bills with the big red letters 'FINAL NOTICE' on them.

Scott was standing outside his room, alert, and he nodded. She ran down the stairs, and grabbed the baseball bat by the door, while Scott grabbed the fire poker. She opened the door, her twin walking cautiously behind her.

She went closer to the fence outlining their porch, and a figure seemed to appear from the sky, causing both McCall's to scream.

Charlotte was not reluctant to admit that the high pitched scream was not hers.

"Stiles, what the hell are you doing?" Charlotte yelled, while Scott puffed his inhaler dramatically behind her.

"You guys weren't answering your phones," he said nonchalantly, as if he wasn't hanging from the roof, "Why do you have a bat? And a- fire poker?!"

"I thought you were a like a murderer," Charlotte said, pushing her hair from her face. This was not how she planned on starting the school year.

"Like a predator," Scott suggested, still catching his breath while Stiles scoffed.

"Look, I know it's late, but you gotta hear this. I saw my dad leave 20 minutes ago. Dispatch called. They're bringing in every officer from the Beacon Department, and even state police," he said, sparking Charlotte's interest, which quickly died as priorities came to mind.

A murder mystery was not one of them.

"For what?" Scott asked, also seemingly interested.

"Two joggers found a body in the woods," Stiles said, causing the twins eyes to widen, and they looked at each other before looking back at Stiles.

"A dead body?" Scott asks, his voice raising a pitch or two.

"No, a body of water. Yes, dumb-ass, a dead body," Stiles said sarcastically.

"Murdered?" Charlotte asked, and Stiles sighed.

"Nobody knows yet. Just that it was a girl, probably in her 20s," Stiles said, as Scott took a step forward to stand beside his twin sister.

"Hold on, if they found the body, then what are they Iooking for?" Scott asked

"That's the best part, They only found half," Stiles said excitedly, "We're going."
