AmaraP.O.V.

I looked up at the sunny sky that was bright over Asgard. Asgard, this beautiful place has been my home for so long. I cannot even remember my original home. But I know I was from Migard. But you could say I was different from other mortals. I had super strength, speed and could see things from a mile away.

I came from a very long line of Guardians. They had originated in Asgard but then one day one of them went down to earth and mated with a woman and when the guardian died protecting a member of the royal family the bloodline of him continued onto the son of their child. And then after that it was only just men, until there was only women and from then that's all the Guardians were. Women.

Women who were trained to protect.

I am the very last of that bloodline. The rest of my ancestors were killed, murdered by enemies of the royal family until there was none left. My mother was the Guardian before me. But when she died I automatically became the new Guardian at the age of 8 and was immediately assigned to Queen Frigga. I was 21 now. At least in looks, compared to how old I really was.

I put down my head as my hood covers my face from the sunlight. Ever since I've become a Guardian I've never took my hood off. No one really knew what I looked like except Frigga. She's the only person I have ever shown my face too. Well her and...him.

"Amara, there you are." A gentle voice said.

I looked down from the tree I sat up in, jumping down landing gracefully in front of Frigga.

"My queen." I say, bowing.

"Amara, how many times have I told you as to not address me like that when not in company?" She asks with a playful grin.

"To many times to count." I reply with a grin of my own.

Frigga gave me a smile that soon disappeared as she reached out and grabbed my face.

"Is that a bruise?"

I was surprised she could see the bruise on the top of my head seeing as my white hood and the darkness it brings with it covers it up pretty well. Not well enough for her, though.

"It's fine. I had a rough time at training that's all." I said.

"Was it Trevor again? I swear that boy is too hard on you. I shall talk with him later." She says and I groaned.

Since the day I was assigned to Frigga she treated me as if I was one of her own children. In all truth, Queen Frigga was the nicest woman I have ever met. She is like a mother to me seeing as she practically raised me.

"It is fine. I can deal with Trevor on my own. You need not worry about me." I said pulling her hands away from my face. She let them drop to her sides.

"I always worry about you, Amara."

"I know. But you need not to worry, honestly."

"Amara-"

"Mother, you need not worry."

There are only certain times were I would call Frigga mother. Mostly when we were having a conversation that I quickly want to end. She nods her head though she isn't one to give up so easily. I turn around walk over towards a pillar and lean against it pulling my hood down and uncovering my face. Unveiling my light brown eyes, curled brown hair, and according to Frigga true goddess like features.

"You do know what's today?" Frigga asked me.

"Hm....is Thor being crown king today?" I asked. She shook her head as I took a dagger out and played with it in my hands.

"Is there a celebration? Aw, is it someone's birthday?" I asked with a slight pout at the end not really caring in the slightest what event it was today. Frigga gave me a look. I was quick to fix my face, clearing my throat.

"Sorry. What is today?"

"Loki is to be punished for his crimes at early noon."

I paused, the tip of my dagger stopped twirling on my fingers as I looked up at her. I saw she was waiting to see my reacting.

"Oh. So what? Is he going to be executed or something?" I asks looking back down at my dagger. Tracing the words and symbols on it.

"No. I have talked with Odin about the situation."

"So he actually does care about him. I thought you were the only one." I place my dagger back into its place before leaning off the pillar and starting to walk away.

"You know I'm not the only one that cares for him Amara." Frigga says. I stopped looking down at my feet. I slowly turned around and faced her.

"You think I care if that mischievous sociopath gets killed? I think you have the wrong person." I say. She rolls her eyes.

"Amara we both know that is a lie. You and Loki were the best of friends when you were younger."

"That was a long, long time ago. That was when we were innocent kids, then we turned into not-so-innocent teenagers and the into grown adults. Training got harder and Loki was to busy trying to show his father he was worthy of the throne to even-" I stopped myself from rambling and sighed.

"It doesn't matter. We may have been friends before, but that is all in the past. We all thought he died and grieved. He ended up alive. Got his arse kicked down on earth. Now he is getting punished. I truly don't give a crap about what happens to him now. Things changed. He changed and not for the better. But I did." I pulled my hood back up and finally walked away.
