awkward drive

"please, please, please Sophie." Jake was bugging me to get a lift to school, I didn't want to say no because truthfully I wanted to drive him. I opened the garage up and walked over to my car, Jake followed behind "nice car." Jake whistled

"what's the matter with your car?"I asked he looked at me as if it was a hard question to answer, I looked at him with my tell-me-or-your-not-getting-in-my-car stare he sighed "I wrote off my car, that is why my parents were going mental at me this morning" I realised I was staring at him

"oh shit."  that's all that escaped my mouth. he laughed at my reaction.

The drive from our house to school was at least half an hour on a good day but today it was a busy day so we were sat at a junction waiting for the lights to change when Jake turned to me and whispered  "no-ones ever drove me to school before." I smiled at him

I replied "oh, lucky me." I noticed I was being sarcastic, maybe it was because I was nervous, he laughed it off anyway. I made the turn to go down the street to pick my best friend up. Jake became un-easy and crouched down in his seat,

"who are you trying to hide from?" I laughed

"Lisa lives down this street." I looked at him surprised, Lisa is jakes girlfriend, she is literally the biggest bitch I know

"why?"

"she's clingy, also if she sees that you're driving me to school she will go nuts" he was straight to the point

I stopped outside Ella's and beeped she came bundling out of her house all giddy then stopped at the passenger door and climbed in the back

"what's he doing in your car." Ella tried to whisper

"You know I can actually hear you." Jake said with a frown on his face

The rest of the drive to school was awkward, I parked in my usual spot and we all climbed out of the car. Jake tapped my back "thanks for the ride Soph, your not a bad driver like most girls." okay that was surprising

"thank you, I guess." we walked in the school together until he saw his friends who might I say were unbelievably big headed, they all thought they were the best things around.

"why did you give him a ride to school Sophie?" Ella asked

"he needed a lift, so I gave him one what's the big deal?" I blushed

"the big deal is that he's an arse, you even say he is." the bell rang.. "saved by the bell." I laughed Ella laughed too we walked to our lockers and then to class.

The last five minutes before dinner were the longest, I was so hungry, as I walked to the cafeteria, Lisa pulled me to one side and barked at me "if MY boyfriend needs a lift to school, I will pick him up and I will bring him, OK?" I was stunned and didn't know what too say, as she was walking away I kicked myself for being such a wuss and not saying anything back, I almost lost my appetite but I loved my food so I went in the cafeteria, and took my spot in line my friends came over and was curious of what bitchface had to say... yes bitchface that's what me and my friends call the snobs.

The last lesson of the day I had history, worse lesson ever because the room was full of jocks and cheerleaders that's including Jake and Lisa 'ergh' I stressed to much when it came to history me, Ella and Mat walked in the room and there was only three seats left and guess where, yes on the table with Lisa, Ethan and Jake... Ethan was a lovely guy when he wasn't around idiots he smiled and Jake smiled too, however if looks could kill, I would surely be dead with the looks Lisa shot at me. Mr Mcloud wasn't a very strict teacher but he liked us to listen as the lesson dragged on and he paired us off, I was paired with Jake... what a surprise I always thought it was because I was good at history and Jake not so much but I'm not to sure now because he was getting good.

"so what's happening this weekend then Jake?" Ethan whispered over me I zoned out I didn't want to be nosey but it was hard with both guys sat beside me the bell rang and everyone whooped with excitement. as I piled all my coursework in my bag Jake stopped and asked "Sophie?"

"yes Jake." I said nicely

"can you do me a favour?" he said sweetly

"your the one that owes me a favour." I said teasing him

"can you drive me home pleasee."

"yes." I said without a fight.

we walked out of school together and towards my car, people stopped to stare I just assumed it was because Jake was a popular kid and he gets attention wherever he goes plus he was hot. I smiled to myself as we reached the car he opened my door I looked at him in astonishment I climbed in slowly.

"Lisa barked at me today for driving you to school, wonder what she will do next when she finds out I drove you home." I stated

"just ignore her, its probably because I would never get in her car if she was driving, she's a freaking lunatic." we laughed together.

"see you tomorrow Soph." he shouted there was so much promise in that goodbye

"cya later." I sighed I didn't know what I was expecting 'a kiss goodbye' I hit myself for liking my neighbour.
