The lands were cast into the dark times when they came in swarms. The accursed beasts scoured Etharia, searching for prey. The ruined kingdom's survivors still say they remember what that day was like. They recall the red splattered onto the cobblestones, the discarded limbs scattered everywhere, the coppery scent of blood soaking the air. Those who've gone insane mutter endlessly about the terrible cracking of bones, strangled screams, and thunderous beating of massive wings.
Zora remembers too. A cry for a mother, a flash of lightning, and the pounding of blood-mixed rain; things of living nightmares. They plagued her dreams seven years ago.
They still haunt her. manipulated, taken.
