Toxic: Ch. 2

"NO!"

"Can't I request another bodyguard?" I pleaded with Reed but he wasn't having it.

"No. You know Nikolai and he knows you. It won't be awkward between you guys so that's why I decided to get you someone that you've already met. Sure, Nikolai's quiet but that doesn't deter from his excellence." Reed looked at his watch and clicked his tongue.

It was official. He was out to kill me. He wanted me dead. It was the only explanation as to why he went to the deep lengths to do such a thing.

"Why can't I have Zanos or Alejandro? I see them both on a daily basis." I pouted at Reed once again, hoping that he be fooled by my charms. "No, Dominic. They have lives and such." He winked at them and I made a noise of disgust.

My charm was failing me and I didn't know what to do. I didn't want to be stuck with Nikolai.

"Fine. He'll just be watching me everyday. It's not that bad." I decided and let out a small huff. "He'll be staying with you at your house too." Reed finally muttered and my eyes widened. "You mean to tell me that this creepy man will be staying in my house with me 24/7?! Why?!" I demanded to know.

"Well, you did get shot by someone. What if they know where you live?" Zanos raised an eyebrow. "Then I'll fucking move somewhere else!" I cried. Anything but being stuck in the same house with Nikolai Culkin.

"Stop being silly, Dominic. Nikolai has no problem with watching you. Right Nikolai?" He turned to the tall man that was standing in the doorway, staring at me. "No." He muttered out and I glared at him. "Well don't I have to be comfortable with him? He scares me!" I yelled at Reed. "He only says one word for a response! How will I talk to him?!" I looked at him, appalled.

Reed all but sighed and stared at me. "He volunteered to watch you so he's gonna be your bodyguard. As for his responses to you, I'm sure you'll come up with enough things to talk about." He finished and nodded to Zanos and Alejandro.

Reed Milligan wanted me to die at the hands of Nikolai Culkin. I did nothing for him to hate me but he feels the need to torture me with this.

I fell back against the bed, wishing I could turn into a ghost and fly away. "Stop being dramatic, Dominic. It's only for awhile." Alejandro rolled his eyes at me and I slapped myself in the face. "Is this a nightmare? It has to be." I whispered to myself and then Eli touched my hand.

"Yay, daddy! Mr. Niko is coming to live with us!" He beamed up at me and I fought the urge to fly across the room and kick Nikolai in the face. "Of course you would be in love with that idea, you little shit." I mumbled under my breath.

I'm dying and I haven't got the chance to prepare my will or my funeral.

"Will you guys hold a wake for me when I die?" I asked and Zanos raised his eyebrow. "Stop being stupid. You know Nikolai as well I know him. He won't hurt you." I rubbed my forehead with my hand and thought to myself.

If I got hit by a car, will they let me stay in the hospital?

No. What if I ran away during the night to Ireland and became a rice farmer? I could change my name to Mojo Jojo or Fletcher or Hubert. Maybe even Fly. No one suspects a person named Fly.
