In the movie version of Cinderella, the young Cinderella is forced into a life of hard work and labor by her stepmother and ugly stepsisters. But she soon falls in love with a handsome prince and castle to go with it.
In the Brothers Grimm Cinderella, the desperate stepsisters cut off parts of their feet in order for the glass slipper to fit properly. It works at first until the prince notices the blood. When the stepsisters attend Cinderella's wedding, the birds she befriended peck out their eyes, blinding them.
