Olivia's pov
I avert my gaze away from the identified walking object, towards my bewildered little sibling. She seems to have lost interest in her feet and remained shtum. Now her eyes are timidly glued to my face.
I stifle a grin and reach out for her hand.
"Ruby," I say calmly. She nodds her head, indicating that she is all ears.
Oh! So I guess I finally have a chance to get a few words out! My my. What to do?
"Perhaps we should find dad first, ask if he is going away today and then bombard him with questions. We will accomplish nothing by jumping to every conclusion that enter our wandering minds." I state in a simple manner.
Stealing a quick glance around us, I clamp my hands together and arche my back in a rather laborious posture.
"We should be calm and collective, it is imperative for our images as ladies of the high society that we carry ourselfves with poise and dignity. We musn't be curious." I imitate Miss Deborah's annoyingly high pitched voice, which never seems to lack in the deafening-department. On the contrary, she can easily make a flock of geese lowwer their heads in shame!
"Oh no we musn't!" I shake my head sideways. My face scrunched up uncomely and my voice unappealingly insubstantial.
Ruby looks at me with an uncanny devilish smile. She then presses the tips of her fingers against one another while her eyes gleam with evil.
My my. Looks like I have summoned the beast.
"Point well made Lady Olive," she replies with a smug look.
"Where do you suggest we start our quest?" She asks, clearly thrilled with my plan. I am grinning from the west to the east.
Two little demons siting in hell
They pushed the bloody nuisance down the burning hell
First comes the bet, now they start to hunt
One, two, three, four look ...
"Olivia! Ruby! Where are you?" My mothers melodious voice invades my thoughts like a warriors lethal spear. The sound of her delicate footsteps became audible from upstairs and a few seconds later she graces us with her vicinity.
She is the epitome of beauty. Her serene features representing every aspect of her fine complexion. Long golden hair that cascades down her back, beaming blue eyes and a stunning smile to match. Her majestic royal blue gown flows like a boundless waterfall as she gracefully makes her way down the stairs.
My mother is an altruistic woman. Empathetic towards all living creatures and loving beyond measures. Except when you mess with ancient artifacts which is all over our house. It is sooo difficult keeping my itching little fingers off of them.
"Sweethearts there you are. I was starting to get worried when neither one of you answered my calls. Care to explain?" She asks and assess us both from head to toe.
"Sorry mommy. Me and Olive were just..." Ruby looks at me, then mouthes a sorry. Why are you saying sorry ?!Her eyes luster in a teasing manner and a proud smile make it's way to her lips.
Oh dear she's up to something!
"Ask Olive," with that she points her finger towards me and looks me straight in the eyes.
Oh so this is how you wanna play it huh?
"Olivia?" My mother asks suspiciously. Oh now I'm the culprit? Sweet oh dear little me?
Don't look at me, ask the little Indian dish next to me! Then my genius little brain conducted a terrific warfare.
"Oh dearest Mommy, little Ruby over here..." I say mockingly and patt her head.
