I carried Jai upstairs after we got to his house; his first dose is in 6 hours so I'll let him sleep. I laid him down and he immediately relaxed. His face looks more... expressive in his sleep, like he's not trying to keep on a poker face all the time. He's all relaxed now...

"Jai... do you not trust me?" I sighed quietly, he just slept there so I leant over and kissed his forehead and left the room. I walked down to see Kay and Dani in the kitchen cooking. Well, Dani cooking, Kay's banned from the microwave so she just sits and taste tests.

"How is he?" Dani asked watching the chicken brown

"Sleeping peacefully, how are you guys?" I asked while I sat down

"...tired... and confused." Kay sighed, "I mean I know it's what he wants... but to hide this from mom and dad? That seems like he's just running away." She gripped her cup tightly

"Do as he wishes for now, knowing Jai he'll say it in passing and then let it die." I shrugged

Kay chuckled at that, "Yeah, he'd probably just go to mom and dad and say 'hey guys we're out of toothpaste, and I was molested a couple years ago, can you get chocolate too?'" She smirked

I turned to Dani holding some chicken pasta out for me, "He'd do that... or give them a blank hallmark card and write some poem in it." Dani laughed handing one to Kay.

CRACK

I turned and saw Kayla's glass had broken in her hands. "KAY!"

"It's fine... I'm not hurt..." She started to tear up, "Why? Why didn't Jai say ANYTHING?! Why isn't he angry at the driver, why is he always worried FOR us?" She cried, "Why won't he lean on me?! I just... I just... DAMN IT!" She pounded her fist on the table and it cracked.

"Okay calm down Incredible Sulk, you know Jai's the kind of guy who worries for us more than himself. It's how he's always been..." I smiled, "He's just a little cat, trying to protect his pack."

"Oh my god... I'm imagining him with cat ears!" Kay laughed through her tears

"He'd be cute as hell." I chuckled

"Yeah... I'm gonna make him wear that..." Kay smiled evilly

"Gimme a heads up, I'll take pictures." I smiled

"Ditto" Dani smirked,

"He'll kill us though..." Kay laughed

"Worth it" Dani and I said

"I'm gonna go to bed guys..." I yawned, "tires me out when I when my boy just up and runs..."

"'your boy' huh?" Kay smiled

"Yeah... well not yet... but I'm his." I waved nonchalantly and left the room to the girls giggling.

"No touching of the invalid!" Kay called as I made my way up the stairs

"No promises." I called back

I crept up to the room and Jai was lying there sleeping, I let out a breath. I walked up to him, kicking off my shoes and pulling off my shirt at the same time. I lifted the blankets and slid in as softly as I could; I gently wrapped my arm around Jai and dozed off with him in my arms.

"Love you Jai..." I murmured

I woke up and Jai wasn't in my arms... or in the bed... I looked around and the sun was setting. It was about 7, shit I slept like 12 hours! I saw his phone was gone, but not his shoes. I pulled my phone out and called him, his ringback tone playing "Paradise Lost" by Hollywood Undead
