The vision came to a stand still and I was thrown back into reality.
"Seen enough, Beta?" Takeo questioned.
I stood hunched over, heaving from the energy expended from entering the spell's binding.
"How-how did you find her?" I replied.
"My Alpha had his warriors track her, she ran through our territory without knowledge of an existing Alpha. That girl is a magnet for good fortune."
He shook his head and sighed before extending his arm to me, helping me to my feet.
"So what is it that you want from me?" I crossed my arms after brushing the dirt from my clothes.
Takeo turned his back to me and looked up at the stars that coated the sky, and I moved slowly to take my place standing next to him.
"Beta. I have information for you that you aren't going to like." He sighed, clasping a hand over my shoulder.
"What kind of information?" I asked, shrugging his hand off of me.
"Your Alpha, how much do you trust him?" He asked as he turned to face me.
"I don't know...enough I guess, not nearly enough as I should." I responded.
"Enough to let him reject your sister? To let an Omega walk all over her and steal her mate?" A sly smile made it's way across his face slowly and my eyes widened.
The party.
She wasn't lying.
I felt my legs shaking and my palms grew clammy as I suddenly grew nauseous.
"Easy Beta, you look as though someone's broken your heart." He cleared his throat.
"I...did this to her." I stated.
"There is still a way for you to fix this, Beta. Unless of course, you don't want my help, it makes no difference to me. She isn't my sister," He shrugged once more, taking the Bellulo and tossing it to the ground and watching it disintegrate before us.
"How? How could I possibly fix this?" I sighed, shaking my head and letting my head hang.
"It just so happens, that I have a plan." Takeo knelt before me and continued to speak.
"In order for this to work...I'm going to need your help. It will not be an easy job either, but it will be rewarding."
I let my eyes meet his and he smiled.
"I need you to gather information on your Alpha and his family for me, encourage his spending habits and even let him mate with that...ingrate. The point is, your pack must become weak within the next year so that I am able to bring my Alpha and his pack in to 'help'. You will be reunited with Danielle and my Alpha will be able to come and make more alliances with yours."
My eyes narrowed as I pondered his suggestion,
"Why do you want to make alliances with our pack?" I questioned.
"Well your Alpha is the closest to the original Lycan bloodline, and he would prove to be a very useful ally don't you agree?"
I nodded, that was true.
"Your Alpha is also strong, what does he have to prove?" I retorted.
"Nothing, but the relationships between the North American bloodlines has been faltering and with no true heir to the Alpha family, I'd say he's starting to get worried."
That made sense, I'd known the Alpha of the North had no true heirs.
"So...all you want me to do, is spy on them?" I asked, to confirm.
"Yes...and no, in order for you to stay under control and maintain your position you'll need to well- give control to your beast."
I stood.
"I know, I know, it isn't ideal." He put his hands up.
"Ideal? Only a savage lets their beast become dominant." I spat.
"You didn't let me finish, Beta."
I crossed my arms.
"You will be aware of your actions, you will still be alive within your subconscious. I will have Raheel conjure up something for you and when all of this is over, you will have your freedom back." He nodded.
I felt my shoulders relax and I shook my head, running my hands through my hair.
"What's it going to be, Beta? A life without Danielle?"
Suddenly Raheel's hands clasped together and a ball of blue energy encompassed his wrists before he opened them again and a potion bottle was placed in Takeo's hands.
"Or a life with her?" He extended the bottle to me and nodded.
The purple liquid sloshed around within the bottle between his fingers and I focused on the most important thing racing through my mind.
Danielle.
I took the bottle.
-------------------
I stood with my hands on the glass, and was brought back to reality by Laura tapping me on the shoulder.
"What's wrong Kale?" she asked as she squeezed my bicep.
"N-nothing...everything is fine."
I stared out towards the meadow and felt my body shiver as I noticed Takeo standing near the tree line, a sinister smile upon his face and his index finger horizontal to his lips as if he were telling me to be quiet.
What did I get myself into?
