I shook my head and tried to recall the events of the previous night, only flashes of fire and fighting appeared and I sat up wondering how it was that I came to be here.

"Laura."

I shook her and she stirred, wiping her nose as her eyes fluttered open.

"Hm?" She replied groggily.

"Laura what happened? Where am I?"

She rubbed her eyes and yawned, shaking her head a few times before speaking.

"Don't you remember? Kale, last night you came back from the raid and told me to pack my things. You said that you wanted a family and that this wasn't a mistake."

She stood and dressed herself in a robe, tying it loosely around herself.

"This robe is going to get too small for me eventually, we should look at maternity clothing soon do you think?"

"Yes,"

Wait, yes? No, this wasn't what I wanted at all. What was happening?

She nodded and walked over to my side of the bed before placing a kiss on my cheek and disappearing into the bathroom.

I paced the room, pounding myself a few times in the head with my fist to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I knocked the vase off of the counter in a fit of anger and sighed as I bent down to pick up the broken pieces, catching a glimpse of myself in the water reflecting on the tile.

I backed away quickly before turning and facing the window and finding my suspicions to be true, I looked different. Suddenly the events from the previous night came back to me and I shivered as I recalled what'd taken place.

~~~~~
We finished the raids early because they'd given their allegiance to the Lican pack sooner than anticipated. As we left the grounds I felt my body being surged with energy and I had to stop for a moment, feeling my primal instincts starting to rise to the surface. I felt confused and frustrated simultaneously as I continued to fight my shift. My beast refused to back down and I felt my breathing become heavier as three orbs of light came down from the sky and surrounded me.
I gasped for air as my body suddenly became stiff and rigid, the three orbs which were once surrounding me had disappeared and in their place were three people.
"Kale Peter Rover, Beta of the house Lican, son to-"
He hesitated, his bright blue eyes widening for a moment before he cleared his throat and proceeded to read from the script within his grasp.
"Son to Samuel Rover and Iona Teller, a Lycan with no sworn allegiance to any pack."
I felt my breathing slow and my heart rate drop as he said these words, I was the son of a rogue?
A mistake?
"Tell me...do you believe in the Gods?"
He questioned me and I found myself unable to speak,
"Raheel please, lift the petrified spell."
He spoke once more and all of a sudden my lungs filled with air and I coughed, my body flexing as it finally became able to move once again .
"Now I ask you once more, do you believe in the Gods?"
I sighed and panted as I sat up,
"I.. I don't know, I suppose so." I shrugged.
He tsked in response,
"What a pity."
I looked up.
"Because they don't believe in you."
He sighed and took a seat on a log adjacent to me, I held my breath as I caught sight of his sword gleaming in the moonlight.
"Tell me Lycan, how long do you think you can keep up this savage massacring of countless other Lycans before the Gods take notice and make you into a Rhetogre? Not much longer is my guess."
I narrowed my eyes and shrugged,
"What does that have to do with you?"
He sighed and lifted his hands up in mock defeat,
"Perhaps nothing. Of course, I could always be of assistance to you that is if you'd like."
I chuckled, this man was roughly half my size and he carried a sword around, meaning he'd either lost his Lycan abilities or he was something other than half-breed.
"What could I possibly want from you?"
He smiled.
"More power."
I furrowed my brow,
"How can you help me with that? I certainly wouldn't take the help from the likes of you, I don't even know you...or your subordinates." I shook my head, dusting myself off and standing to my full height.
He looked up at me with the same smile on his face,
"Oh how rude of me, of course, this is Raheel, he is my conjurer and my blood brethren."
The man stepped forward and revealed himself, his icy blue eyes and dark skin both terrified and intrigued me at the same time. His hair was bleach blond and tattoos were apparent on either side of his face,
"This, is Rhianon, she is my shape shifter, a sister of the dark magik."
She smiled back at me, her pale blue eyes and light hair seemed to get even brighter when she did this, although her eyes remained consistently devoid of emotion.
"I am Takeo Adachi, guard to the Alpha of the pack Ruber Ventus and Rhetogre sorcerer."
Rhetogre sorcerer.
"Do not let my title fool you, Lycan, the Gods may have stripped my Lycan abilities but I still have spells that would make even my Alpha cower."
He spoke once more and I nodded as he stood and walked a few steps in front of me,
"My question to you now, Beta, is would you like to know more about yourself?"
I scoffed and shrugged my shoulders,
"How would you know anything about me?"
He paused.
"I know that you're battling your inner beast constantly, you thirst for blood most nights, other nights you fight off  inescapable insomnia. You blame yourself for the exile of your sister, you can't bring yourself to look at your Alpha, and even now you're fighting a battle you will not win."
He placed a hand on my shoulder and I shoved him away as I stood.
"Who are you? What do you want with me?!" I cried.
"I just want to help you. Let me help you, Beta."
I wasn't sure if it was his tone of voice or if it was the way my mind raced but I felt myself nodding and soon he smiled.
"Good, now, let's discuss this sister of yours."
