I just thought of something.

I'm listening to music and "Misbehavin'" comes on. Naturally, I'm happy, because I freaking love that song.

But I've been reading a lot of sad fanfictions lately and it got me thinking.

What if there was an entirely new meaning to it?

What if, hypothetically, of course, it wasn't just about being on a trip so you're away from your lover?

What if they were dead?

I mean, think about it. It makes sense.

(I'm warning you ahead of time. This gets really depressing and it may be triggering. Read with caution.)

A million miles away and I'm still thinkin' 'bout my baby
Scott's lover (example peeps)(*cough* Mitch) is in Heaven, or the afterlife, or whatever. Scott is devastated.

Ain't misbehavin', no, you don't need to worry
Scott doesn't want to get with anyone else because he feels like it would be an insult to Mitch's memory.

I'm havin' a good time, oh oh oh woah oh
Sarcasm. He's not having a good time because Mitch is dead, but he thought he'd humor Mitch from the afterlife.

And I've had one too many, but you're the only one on my mind
He's drinking his pain away and probably crying over his lost love.

3a.m., my phone is dead, I'm actin' like a dang fool
Scott didn't bother to charge his phone because he knows people will just try to get him to go out and meet someone new, but he doesn't want to, obviously. It's 3a.m. and he's crying, probably staring at photos of him and Mitch too.

We're singin' "We Found Love" and jumpin' into swimmin' pools
The other person in the 'we' is Mitch. He's reminiscing the good times they had together and probably wishing he had died instead.

Yeah, I had a good time, oh oh oh woah oh
They had a good time when they were together, but now Mitch is dead, and they're not together anymore.

And I've had one too many, but you're the only one on my mind
Again, drinking and crying. The usual.

Oh, but I know that I can be wild sometimes
Doesn't mean he will. He'd rather stay at home and cry.

Oh, but I never lie, 'cause I'm yours, you're mine
Again with the not insulting Mitch's memory thing.

And I ain't misbehavin', no, I ain't misbehavin' tonight
'Cause Scott's at home. Crying. Like you do.

Everyone around me is just kissin' on somebody
Everyone else has moved on.

But I'm just dancin' by myself around the lobby
Why can't he?

I'm havin' a good time, oh oh oh woah oh
Lies.

And I've had two too many, but I'm just doin' this to pass the time
He's drinking the time away to when scömìche will be reunited once again. A.k.a. Scott dying.

Oh, but I know that I can be wild sometimes
Again. Doesn't mean he will. Crying, you know.

Oh, but I never lie, 'cause I'm yours, you're mine
He's not going to betray Mitch anytime soon, even though he's dead. After all, Scott's his, and he's Scott's.

And I ain't misbehavin', no, I ain't misbehavin' tonight
Why would he when he's just at home crying?

But I wonder, are you out there thinkin' of me?
Is Mitch watching over him?

Is it stupid that I'm askin', "Do you miss me?"
Is he wishing to be back with Scott instead of where he is? Does he want Scott to join him so they can be together again?

Are you behavin'? 'Cause I'm savin' all my love for you
If Scott got with someone else, surely that would betraying the one person he would die for. Even though he was already dead.

I'm havin' a good time, but I'd rather be with you
Pretty self-explanatory. Scott wants to be dead.

A million miles away but I'm still thinkin' ' bout my baby
Scott can't go to the afterlife. They don't accept the living.

Ain't misbehavin', no, you don't need to worry
Why would he try to get with someone else when the only thing he wants is waiting for him in the afterlife?

Oh, but I know that I can be wild sometimes
But why would he when he has his bottle and his blade?

Oh, but I never lie, 'cause I'm yours, you're mine
What's the point? Not like he'll ever see them again, anyway.

And I ain't misbehavin', no, I ain't misbehavin', told you
That's what he said. Scott's a man of his word.

I ain't misbehavin', no, I ain't misbehavin', I've had way too many
Hang tight, Mitchie. Scottie's coming.

But you're the only one on my mind
Rest in peace.
