Chapter-7
||A Dangerous Mess||

When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.
Rumi

His heart and eyes had longed for her just the same, and seeing at her from across the couch was simply not enough not did it striate the suppressed time. It only made him ache for more. The clock tickled, begging the silence to speak.

"Tum thk ho? (Are you okay?)", His voice rumbled the silence, echoing the walls that were ready to reflect the hearts.

Her breath tumbled in her stomach as her head lifted up and turned to look at him, he was leaning against couch, his hands were on his thighs, the sleeves of his mint shirt rolled up with haste. His hair mingled with the whispers of the night breeze. His dark eyes gazed her intently, a deep and intense longing awaiting for her lips to speak with such calm serenity.

"Jee! (yes!)"

She bite the inside of her cheek before shrugging herself nonchalantly, her eyes dropped to the asphalt, her lashes fluttered with the the small smile that engraved her lips.

"Well we know each other professionally Swara, is there anything you'd like to ask me? And you're the first girl who's proposal I have taken seriously", he said calmly looking at her, that widened her large almond eyes. Her heart lips closed in hesitation even though she didn't know they had opened with apprehension.

She was a moon, surrounded by so many stars in the luminous sky.

"Woh-woh kya aap aap jante the ki woh mein hi thi jab hum takaraye the market mein? (Did you know it was me when we bumped into each other in the market)," she asked curiously, defiantly where she sat on the couch.

"No, I didn't, but I did find out it yesterday when I got home, I saw the picture your mother had sent and I knew it was you whom I'm going to meet", he said genuinely, she seemed baffled but he couldn't help but smiled at her innocence.

"Oh!" She sighed.

He is the same man she had met about a week ago, he seemed so humble and compassionate. He is her Choco pie's best friend from his childhood. Her mind couldn't help but go back to that first line 'she was the first girl whose proposal he took seriously'.

'Jhoote, zaroor kahaani bna rhe honge ya yeh khud bas dikhawaya kar rhe h (lair, he must be cooked this tale or may he must be putting up this facade)'
her heart whispered.

"If you don't mind me asking, did Ritik know about this proposal thing?" He asked with a strain in his voice. Almost as he was worried what would his answer would be, she felt unease.

"Jee woh jaante hain iss proposal ke baare mein, par yeh nhi ki woh aap hi hain? (He knows about this proposal but he doesn't know that it's you)", she whispered looking at clenching her fingers, her arms held her chiffon duppatta as it swayed celestially around her.

'What would be his reaction after knowing about him?' Her heart screamed.

He sipped his coffee, dangling his legs as he sat on the couch comfortably. He eyed her in sheer amusement appreciation, observing as she tangled herself more with her tassels, swiftly moving her hand as the swirls of tassels from de tangling shaped nozzle decorated the delight.
