Jenna sank into the couch next to Eric. She couldn't die in this future, she just couldn't. Eric wrapped his muscular arms around her and gave her arm a quick and comforting squeeze. The two of them sat there in silence for a moment, watching the television, Jenna on the verge of tears. Suddenly loud booming noises sounded above them, from on the ground. Jenna gripped at Erics arm as he tried to go see what was happening, she could now remember every part of her life that had come after the future project. She knew Eric now. She also knew that the noises above them were the weapons the extra terrestrials used.

"You can't go up there," she pleaded.

"They'll blast away everything around the house!"

"Maybe they will, but they won't be blasting you."

With that Eric plopped down on the couch again. Jenna left the room, then right when Eric got up to leave again, she came back. He sat down again. Jenna surprised him by hoisting two rifles in front of her, she surprised herself, too.

"You won't be getting blasted if you bring this," she felt the words flow from her lips. "And you won't be getting blasted at without me."

Eric smiled.
