Power Within II: Bound by a Promise(Under revision)

XIII: PROOF

Just then, I noticed the familiar girl with fiery bright red hair, silently standing a few steps away. I managed to catch a glimpse of her eyes staring straight at me before she disappeared with the lion.

Agad bumalik sa normal ang takbo ng oras. Naiwan akong hindi makagalaw sa kinalalagyan habang patuloy pa rin ang buhos ng ulan.

“Thanks goodness you're okay.”  Nag-aalalang yumakap si Gerardine na nakalapit na pala sa 'kin nang 'di ko namamalayan.

“That was close!” Gerard was standing right beside me. “I was pretty sure you'll be hit.”

I see worried, but not unusual expressions on their faces. Wala silang kamalay-malay sa tunay na nangyari. Ni hindi nila napansin ang pagbagal ng oras. Hindi nila nakita kung ano ang nakita ko.

“Walang driver!” Narinig naming sigaw ni Lyall mula sa truck na nabangga sa poste.

“I have to go somewhere.” Wala sa sarili kong paalam. Hindi ko na hinintay ang sagot nila. Tumakbo agad ako palayo.

It was dark. Not a single source of light is visible on the road. The rain's freezing my body with its coldness, but I kept running aimlessly, looking for her. Kahit pa hindi ko alam kung saan ko siya dapat hanapin.

“Adria!” I looked around. There was no sign of her.

Maybe she doesn't want to show herself anymore.

“Did you finally realize something?” boses galing sa likuran ko.

Dali-dali akong lumingon. She's really there. Her hair kept burning bright despite the heavily pouring rain.

“Nalilito pa rin ako sa mga nangyayari. Months ago I was so sure of who I am, but now—” I paused, soaked and perplexed. I'm not even sure what kind of face I'm making right now . “I don't even know if I'm really existing.”

“From all the things that's happening to you.” She reached for my face as she got close. “I'm something you should believe in.” I felt the warmth of her palm, touching me, and the calming gaze from her scarlet red eyes.

Nakakaakit titigan ang maganda niyang mga mata. Hindi ko maialis ang tingin sa mga 'yon.

“I really look hopeless right now, don't I?”

Napangiti siya sa tanong ko. Ngiting pumawi sa pagkalito ko. Her smile is definitely something real.

“Show me some kind of proof that all that you've said about me were true.” Dinama ko ang palad niyang humahaplos pa rin sa pisngi ko. “I want to believe you.”
