I watch from my window as lighting bolts struck down from the sky, lighting up the sky beautifully. It was only noon but the clouds made it seem it like it was close to evening. I listened in awe as thunder rumbled just a few minutes later. "Have you ever took the time to examine a thunderstorm?" I ask as I see Keith come from his kitchen with two mugs in each hand.
"Not really no, I prefer to avoid them." He says walking over to the window and giving me a cup. I look down curiously. "It's tea," he informs me. I shrug and take a sip before looking back out the window.
"Isn't it dangerous to be near a window during a thunderstorm?"
"Are you scared?" I teased.
"Immensely. I'm glad you're here to keep me safe." Keith grins, bending down and meeting my lips with his.
"No problem," I smile back, "Where's that movie you promised me?"
"Oh! Right." Keith gets up and walks over to his TV as I make myself comfortable and sit cross-legged on the scarlet circular couch. He sits beside me moments later and pulls me to lean against him. I place my hand on his knee and his eyes settle on my engagement ring. He stares at it as if he could somehow melt it away. "What time do you have to get back?" he asks in a low voice.
"Erm.." I look up at the clock, "About an hour or so."
"Does he treat you alright?"
I look up at him puzzled and see that his face is completely vulnerable and upset. He's searching my face for answer. He points at my engagement to clarify who he was talking about. "He treats me very well actually. Thanks for asking," I say bewildered.
"Alex, do you ever wonder where we would have been if you gave us a chance?" Keith seems very serious all of a sudden.
"Keith, you know perfectly well why we broke up. I wasn't going to put myself in the middle of you and Olivia. It's hard enough dealing with her at all, I don't need raging hormones in the mix with that."
"I never stayed with her, though."
"But I wasn't going to be the cause of that."
"You already were."
"Keith--" I begin.
I open my mouth to say something but close it again and look away. "I think...I think I want to watch the movie now."

"Alex, honey? Are you listening to me?" Mary-Jane says waving her hand in front of my face.
"Huh? Yeah, that's fine." I say snapping backing to reality.
"Alex, are you alright? You've been zoning in and out a lot today." Cam asks, squeezing my hand tightly and looking at me in concern.
"Yeah, just distracted. What did you say again?" I smile at them both and Mary-Jane picks up a piece of paper and shows us three wedding pictures.
"These types of weddings are my favorite and I wanted to run it by the two of you. There's the traditional wedding, the rooftop wedding, and the beach wedding. Personally, I favor the rooftop wedding because it's not so overdone like the others. It's not entirely original but what wedding is?"
"I'd prefer a beach wedding--it feels more calm, I hear roof and I think Brooklyn apartment roof. What about you Cam?"
"Anything you decide, babe." He kisses my forehead and I showcase a shy smile.
My mind flew back to my situation with Keith and Cam again. God, what was I going to do?
