I wake up to silence.
Not the usual house silence that I'm used to, more of a dead, deserted silence.
I'm used to hearing mom do the dishes downstairs and my older sister, Xavia, ranting about why I shouldn't exist while feeding her newborn daughter, Amy.
Getting out of bed, I change into everyday clothes and look out the window of my room.
The streets are...eerily quieter than usual.
Shifting my gaze to the house in front of me, Mr. Carter's house, there seems to be nobody home.
That may seem normal, but it's not. Mr. Carter never leaves the neighborhood. He's always doing something, whether it be mowing his lawn, gardening, or reading the daily newspaper on the rocking chair on his porch.
I'm used to waking up hearing the hose of Mr. Carter washing his car, due to the fact that he hates stains of any kind on it, even though he never drives anywhere.
Every single day I wake up to some kind of...sound.
But today it's not here.
I get up to check the halls. Walking over to Xavia's room, I see a note. I have 2 options;
---
A ~ Read the note. (Chapter 2)
B ~ Go straight into her room. (Chapter 3)
---
(A/N: Just a little reminder, the chapter lengths will vary depending on the event you chose. Meaning, some chapters will be short, some will be long.)
