"You'll see later." She replied, and then jogged back to the other room.

I picked up my phone and scrolled through Instagram. Most of my feed was full of pictures with awesome scenery, memes, or hq pics. My posts were artsy and about my travelling expeditions. I selected a picture that I had taken in Marathon with a completely blue sky and a snowy ground. Posted!

Cedric turned on the tv and switched to the Canadian news or whatever it was.

"A few days ago, there was a peculiar explosion. Witnesses say that a primary fire reached the gas tank, leading to the explosion that devastated the building. Investigators say that it was caused by a microwave left on in one of the faculty rooms."

A picture was shown of the building that we were just in less than seventy two hours ago. The building was all torn apart with stray pieces of bricks and furniture here and there.

"What the hell?" Jason said, paying more attention to the screen.

"No claims of arson were raised and it was concluded that eight employees died in the explosion. The owner of the facility--Aiden Von Kleist--explained that it was a big mishap in the office. Thanks for watching, here are our sponsors."

I'm pretty sure our jaws were touching the ground by now.

"Tara! Irene! You've got to hear this! Where's Ackerman at?" I yelled.

They rushed into the living room a few seconds later.

"Did somebody die? Because I came running out here to hear news. Better be worth it." Tara said.

"That warehouse that we were in--it was blown up." I told them.

"The newspeople said it was a freak accident with a microwave but I doubt it." Jason added.

"Wait- you guys were in that warehouse?" Cedric asked, confused.

"Mairi says she's on her way back with Ackerman and Michael." Tara said, slipping her phone back into her pocket.

"Did they get food?" Jason asked, patting his stomach.

"Yeah, they stopped by A&W earlier." She said, rolling her eyes when she saw Jason.

"So now what are we going to do?" Irene asked, massaging her brow.

"Celebrate Christmas! You're helping me cook dinner though." Cedric replied, putting his arm around her and gripping her shoulder.

She smiled and looked at him. "What are we going to make?"

Jason smirked and I winked. Cedric made a displeased face and shook his head.

"Probably a turkey, some collard greens, biscuits, mashed potatoes, swedish meatballs, corn on the cob, macaroni and-" Jason cut him off.

"Hey hey you're making me hungry. Where's Mairi with the food?" He said.

A knock coincidentally sounded on the door.

"I got it!" I jumped up off of the fluffy carpet, shimmying to the door. I unlocked it and then pulled on the gold handle.

"What'd we miss?" Michael asked, taking off his shoes and setting several bags down.

"Oh hohoho a lot." I said, raising my eyebrows.

I waited for Ackerman and Mairi to get inside before shutting the door and returning to the living room. I sat back down on the couch next to Tara.

"Why did they blow up the base?" Jason asked, now towering over Ackerman.

"I have no clue." Ackerman replied, his hands up in the air.
