"I'm so glad you came!" Cedric said, pulling me into a bear hug.

"Thanks for letting us stay." I told him.

He pulled away and smiled. I hadn't seen him in forever, only on video chats. His glossy green eyes somehow complimented his jet black hair. My heart leaped. He was a kind of handsome that was irresistible. I was somewhat immune to that but my jitters and shocks came back.

"That is hot." Tara whispered to me, winking.

I elbowed her in the side and she fake cried in pain. The last time I saw him, he was just an energetic little leprechaun. You never knew how much people could change in a few years. Luckily he didn't hear Tara.

"Come on in guys! Dinner will be ready in ten minutes." He called, smiling and walking into his house.

I grabbed his elbow before he could go inside, startling him.

"Really, thanks for letting us stay. It's only going to be a couple of days. We need to be out of here quick." I said.

"No worries. Just glad you came to visit. Now let's go inside!" He said, leading me in.

We brought our backpacks into the house and set them down in the living room. Wixie instantly ran through the house and jumped on me. She licked my face and I laughed.

"Wixie seems to like you more than I do!" Cedric said, laughing too.

Wixie was Cedric's beagle. They named her after Winn Dixie, combining the W with the ixie. She sniffed to confirm that it was me and then jumped on me again. I picked her up and sat down on the lavender couch.

The living room was nicely decorated; light blue-periwinkle walls were covered with a thousand picture frames and some paintings. There was a wooden table in the center of the living room, surrounded with full bookshelves. A flat screen tv hung on the wall above the fireplace. Mairi plopped down on the couch between me and Jason.

"So how do you know this guy anyways?" Mairi asked me.

"He's my childhood friend. We still talk a lot." I explained.

"Looks like he's drooling over you twenty-four-seven." Jason joked, laughing to himself.

Mairi glared at him and I laughed a little. Tara joined us, sitting on the loveseat beside Nate. Ackerman walked in too and sat on the futon parallel to them. I checked my phone to see if anyone was looking for me.

Mom: How's Canada? Are you at Cedric's yet?

Bailey: Bring us back presents. Try to snatch me up a mosin nagant :p

KayKayla: Where u at bro? Text me back pronto!

I totally forgot to check my phone earlier. I had told my mom and older brother, Bailey, that I was heading to Cedric's last night.

I replied to them and then put the phone in my lap. It lifted and then fell... without me touching it.

"So, how come I can move things with my brain?" I asked Ackerman.

I stared at the bookshelf and focused on one of the books carefully. It slowly wiggled itself out of the shelf and faced towards me. Eighty Ways to Kill Time. I put it back in the bookshelf and looked back at Ackerman. I could see that he was amazed but my friends were wide eyed and freaked out.

"The ratatouille will be ready in five!" Cedric shouted from the kitchen.

"Ah so you must be type AB." Ackerman said.
