"What the hell was that?" Jason asked, obviously scared of my witchery.
"Like I said, the drug gives the host a power based off of their blood type. Type A develops super strength or durability. Type B gets heightened intelligence or enhanced peripherals. Type AB could be telekinesis or telepathy. And Type O can either gain healing abilities or raised stamina and agility. The Desert Eagles have tested it on special groups of people and noticed that some people are able to get all powers within their blood type."
Everyone's jaw was practically on the ground. I looked into the kitchen and spotted Cedric talking to Michael. I wondered if dinner was ready. It was kind of awkward over here.
"Oh, Irene, dinner's ready! I just got a little distracted." Cedric said.
Everyone was as equally confused as I was. I was pretty sure that I hadn't said anything.
"Telepathy. You're lucky enough to get both of the powers." Ackerman told me, walking past me and into the kitchen.
I smiled, not sure if it was a good or bad thing to have both telepathy and telekinesis. I got off the couch and walked into the kitchen with Mairi.
"So does he know what happened?" She whispered.
"I didn't say anything yet, just that we're on a 'road-trip'."
Cedric grabbed my hands and shook them, flailing our arms around.
"Tell me about your friends. I barely know anything about them!" Cedric said.
We walked to the table and sat down. Everyone was seated around the table now so I introduced them from left to right.
"This is Michael, the blabbermouth kid you were talking to. Mairi, our plant princess. Jason, the 'leader' and boxer. Nate, the brains and perfect hacker. Aleksandre, the mysterious scientist. And finally, Tara, our investigative journalist." I said, smiling.
"Hey I am not a blabbermouth." Michael said, fake pouting.
I blew a raspberry at him.
"And I am Cedric, an Irish hockey star and an awesome stud." Cedric added on.
He smirked and I slapped his arm playfully.
"A true stud he is." Tara whispered to me.
"Finally, a proper meal. Last thing I ate was that gross cheese pizza." Nate said, dragging some spaghetti onto his plate.
"Dis ij shome good radadooie." Mairi said, her mouth full.
Jason smiled and looked at Mairi. "Don't talk with your mouth full, it's too adorable." He said, wiping her mouth with a napkin.
"Aww Jairi!" Nate commented.
"Oh shut up."
Mairi
After dinner, we all tried to explain to Cedric why we were really here and filled Nate in on the pink drug.
"So Karina's in Vancouver?" Cedric asked.
"Yeah. We're going to get her." Irene replied.
"Wow. What a journey you guys have had." He said, leaning back into the couch.
I looked around the room a little more thoroughly. There was a Christmas tree in the corner. Christmas!
"Oh my gosh. Today's Christmas eve." I announced.
"Crap, did we all forget? Man this kidnapping situation got us all out of it." Jason added.
"My Christmas present is my new set of powers." Irene said, lifting one of the lilies out of the vase on the coffee table.
