...and parity

203 10 2

 duchess of dawn,
served ye a pawn,
must we, in equipoise,
lounge on the lawn?
and munch on a maggot,
magistrate Moon,
sipping for seconds
in argentum spoons?
as I may devise
a devious surprise,
a lambency mocked
in jovial design,
say, will such leisure
suffice so a laugh,
or dendrites be driven,
splitting in half?
if scepters be charmed
and vestibules warmed
should halfwits be warned
and tocsins alarmed?
now, plenty creating
an echoing knell,
this halfwit be waiting,
wishing on wells.
