I stared at her fading figure as she walked away, my body still frozen. She reached the door, turned & looked at me for the last time. When she did, I saw her moistened eyes. And then I saw her, I saw my Ridhi, somewhere deep, buried under the weight, suffocating, weak, but still alive. I felt her existence & the feeling I felt at that moment, I had never before in my entire life.
The first time I walked out of her life, was for never coming back. This time, when I saw her with her daughter, I kind of did the same. But this time I walked away so that I could walk back in her life again, so that I could chase her & win her heart again, to win her daughter's heart. Give both of them the love they deserved, the love that kept Ridhi away from being herself. The love that could save her & bring her back. And that's the only way I realized, I could save myself too.
Her last look before leaving that restaurant gave me everything I needed. Now I have all the strength that I lacked before. I have the courage & more than that, I have those five years with me which showed me how dreadful a life could be without having a person you truly loved in it.
Maybe, it is the way she always said, we are meant to be together, no matter what.
