I walked as leisurely as possible. Hoping Akash, her husband, wasn't around. As I did so, I realized, rather wretchedly that she didn't belong to me now, I had no right over her, but I just couldn't take my eyes off her. I reached near her in ten steps max. She didn't notice & I had no idea whatsoever what to do or what to say. Suddenly, I just stepped aside & stood at the back of the chair she was sitting.
It felt gravely embarrassing. College days flashed in front of my eyes in a second. I had done the same for a month or two before she approached & asked if I wanted to eat an ice cream with her.
I still remained as I was before, a coward.
She was sitting awfully close to me. I could smell her. Damn she smelled exactly the same she used to smell before five years ago. My heart started pounding. She wore a white salwar & a sky blue floral kurta, heavenly. Her brownish hair fell on one side of her neck, making her wheatish skin visible a little. She looked skinny. She always wore tiny earrings, I looked for one, but she wasn't this time.
Guess I was gawking at her for too long that her daughter felt something fishy. She stared at me; Ridhi too felt this & turned to see what her daughter was staring at.
"Adi!" She almost jumped as she turned her neck & sighted me. Even the ice cream she was holding fell down on the floor.
I just waved my hand. Words didn't come out of my mouth. 'Hi', the shortest word in the whole human history that could start stories of lifetime, but always hard to utter, hardest if you are in love.
"Hi!" She said with her mouth open in awe
