I looked in the mirror touching my mocha skin and adjusting my curly hair. I look like a mess. I caressed my face, feeling my small pimples. "Ugh," I said to myself. "I thought I was done with the pimple phase!" Seriously I'm 18. I went in my moms make up bag looking for foundation, concealer, whatever. I'm not good with makeup. When I found a powdery substance I put it on my face. I looked like a ghost. If only my mom and I were the same shade, she's lighter. Right when I began wiping it off I got a text from one of my best friends, Stella.

"Where are u?😁😱😰" it read. We were going to hang out today. I looked in my full body mirror. I was wearing white low converses, a loose gray t shirt (to hide my tummy) and black shorts. While still looking in the mirror I lifted up my shirt and squeezed my stomach to make a face.

"I am Mr.Tummy moohahaha!" I said while holding my stomach. It wasn't big, but it still made me insecure. I left my hair in its curly/puffy state while I headed out the door. Ohh I had to text Stella back.

"I'm on my way😎" my text read. I put down my shirt, kissed my mom and said goodbye to my mom, sister Tara and brother Nate.

"How come I can't come?" Tara asked. Ugh.

"Number one they are not your friends and number two you're only 16." I scoff.

"When did you become such a douche?" She asked.

"I always was," I snapped back. She stared me down and continued to draw her anime figures. "Fine, I'll get you a donut on the way back."

"Yay!" She squealed. She hugged me and told me she wanted strawberry frosting, like I was gonna remember. Right when I was about to step out the door my brother approached me.

"Ugh, Nate I'll get you a donut too!" I exclaimed. He quickly smiled and turned around, heading to his room.

"JOSEPHINE GET ME A MOCHA LATTE!" my mother yelled from the living room. And with that I left.

I got into my Suzuki my dad lent me (he's at work) and put the keys into the ignition. It is such an old car. Before I started driving I turned off my phone. Man, those texting while driving commercials really scared me as a kid.

Stella lived in a light blue two story home, it was only two blocks away and I could have walked but driving made me feel cool. When I finally got there she was waiting outside on her phone. My other besties Whitney and Kayla where next to her.

"Ladies need I ride?" I asked while putting on my shades and rolling down the window. They all laughed.

"I can't believe we graduated a week ago..." Kayla said while getting in the passenger seat.

"I know right," Stella replied. I was shocked too. It felt like I would never leave that hell hole called highschool.

"I do miss everyone though," Whitney responded. I did too, just not the jerks.

"Don't fear ladies, we'll see them all soon," I said while making a sharp turn. We had to get to the other side of town to get to Josepheen's house (the other one). As I pulled up in the driveway I saw the rest of our friends there.

"I thought you guys wouldn't make it!" Annie said hugging me as soon as I got out of the car. At first she was mean now she's amazing nice and cool.

"Woah!" I said hugging her back. We all got inside and sat in the living room. It was medium sized but couldn't fit about 20 people so some people had to sit on others or the floor. Josepheen brought Pepsi and chips. It was time to get started.
