(16) Jealousy Does Not Suit You My Friend

Once their eyes collided, he gave a small smile which she gave with a stiff one before looking back in front yet for the second time, Lucas eyes were on hers

They were deathly black as if he wanted to rip something but refrained himself. They continued to state at each other until everyone just disappeared and it was only them. She wanted to leave and be in his arms so she could forget this stupid day

"I don't believe this! You expect us to believe you? You've been gone for centuries Lucas! Pretty much you have forgotten about your wolf and how to shift, how much more to see that we are in trouble" this brought her back to reality. Most of them agreed as they stood and began to leave. Murmuring about how they wasted their time for this and Lucas didn't even do anything

He just glared

"If you don't mind, we would like to rest in our rooms and leave first thing in the morning" someone said before they left. The people began to lessen until it was around thirty men who mostly agreed to help Lucas. Savanna couldn't help but watch as he interacted with many leaders who welcomed him in open arms. He looked frustrated but at  the same time- seeing someone from the past gave him comfort that he wasn't alone in this

Savanna didn't know how long She've been staring until she heard someone clear their throat beside her

"Im surprised that you're actually acknowledging my presence" she stated when Alester looked at her. He eyes were downcast but they still glanced at her at times

"How are you Anna?" He said while she politely nodded her head. Clinging at the nickname she always loved

"I've been good you?"

"I'm fine"

Savanna didn't mind the silence, in fact she embraced it as she set her eyes on Lucas who remained and talked to the others who are willing to help

"Do you really believe In this?" Savanna wanted to punch him

Seriously

The way he said it made her boil, like he was Taunting Lucas for being crazy

"I was one of them who witness the prediction Alester, and besides Lucas sister-in-law is a seer. You really can't question someone who can read the future"

"Oh" he drawled but a frown replaced his confused expression until it changed into anger

"You've been living with the Andreadis then?"

Somehow she let out a laugh when she heard a hint of jealousy in he's voice. The way it was too low and threatening but this never scared her

Jealousy does no suit you my friend....

"Who do you expect me to live with? After all I think the human world was better. Have you been there?" She wanted to leave. Just away from him and for Lucas to face her but alas, He was too busy that she had to make conversation until he sees her suffocating in Alesters presence

"Erm... Yes once actually-"

"Now that I remember! How's Lucia? She must be with a child now?"
She ask and goddess help her, she cringed when she ask that question but what surprised her though was when he also mirrored her expression

Curious she ask

"What happened to Lucia?"

He looked embarrassed  and something she wasn't familiar ran through his eyes until he murmured

"During my coronation, She had found her mate in one of the packs that came late. I- I couldn't, wouldn't want to let her live a Life here where she would
Mourn for her half while she took care of another.... It just didn't feel good anymore" the way he looked at her should have gave her warning bells, the way his eyes flushed with lust

She was scared shitless

"I saw how happy she was Savanna, the way she accepted him so easily. I should have done that! I should have chased you and got you back but when I realize this.... You were Gone"

Savanna saw how heartbroken he was but she really didn't care anymore. She didn't need this early in the morning

"It's fine" she said coolly

"I'm so sorry Anna-"

"I said it's fine" she gritted out but he never listened. Instead he brought himself nearer- making her take a step back but being stubborn he was, he got closer until they were walking Backwards only to look stupid so she stopped and  raise both her arms to stop him from getting closer

"Alester what are you doing?" Who would've known, that even when your heart already beats erratically to someone new, she still felt something for Alester. Just as her hands touched his chest- she felt that electricity, something they both gave out a sigh yet hers were strangled

This shouldn't be happening......

"Alester stop-"

"Kitten"

Oh goddess finally!

Yet she froze when she realize he just called her kitten. The nickname didn't just stop her but Alester who frowned when Lucas walked and stood beside Savanna, his arms snaked through her waist as if it was a natural thing to do

"Mr. Florence" he greeted before he turned to look at the gobsmack Savanna and kissed her forehead gently

"M-Mr. Andreadis" he greeted back as his eyes traveled to Lucas arms that was securely wrapped against her

"I hope you would consider this meeting as a warning that we are no longer safe. If you are here to form an Ally then I thank you but if you wish to laugh at this so called stupidity then I suggest you leave this instant" he said it so cooly which surprised her. She was about to open her mouth when Lucas lips swoop down to capture hers. She literally thought she died when he kissed her with such intensity while she had to process what they were doing in front of Alester. Her mind went blank just as what had happen in her room until he finally left her gasping for air

Savanna wanted to say something, just so she would know that she was still capable of talking but was instantly shocked when someone gripped her arms and tore her away from Lucas in a flash

"What. The. Fuck" Alester growled, his eyes went darker as he brought the frozen Savanna to his side. The way his grip tighten brought her back to reality when she realize her arm started to hurt

"Alester let go of me" she hiss while she tugged to get free but he didn't budge. Lucas though let a rumble through his chest when his eyes focus on Alester's hand. Something snap and Savanna very well knew it was Lucas bones

"Shit" she cursed and began to frantically struggled until Alester had let go when he too knew what was about to happen too

Savanna didn't hesitate to run towards Lucas front and grip his tight shirt for him to look at her. When he did, his rigid posture didn't stop so she had to do this in front of everyone. Taking a deep breath, she placed both hands in each side of his face and brought him closer to her

"Lucas it's fine, calm down" was all she could utter before Lucas had brought his arms around her in a tight hug. His face buried against her neck as she heard him breath in her scent. And all he could was do nothing. What could she do? This doesn't happen naturally and yet every time he did surprise her- she would always end up speechless

Just like this.....

It was awkward to say when most of the people in this room were looking at them with curiosity, even Alester who stared with a glare - not knowing what to feel with her, being in the arms of another

She just hope that Alester wouldn't do anything stupid to push Lucas' buttons

Cause goddess knows that wouldn't be a pretty sight
