I told her I'd leave if she wasn't comfortable, but she insisted on me staying, so I slept in another bed.

It's been one week.

She just doesn't remember.

I showed her the penthouse. I let her use the white fluffy blanket.

We all sit around the hospital, talking about memories and such when we can.

I can tell she's getting frustrated. It's six in the evening and it's Friday. It's been exactly one week, and she's getting discharged.

"Sunshine, if you want to stay with your parents," I begin.

"No." she says, stubborn. "I want to remember, and I'm not going to remember you if I'm not with you."

"Okay." I whisper.

So I take her home, and I give her a tour of the house, and then I let her settle into the bed.

"You can sleep in the guest room." I say.

"Okay." She says.

I know she's not comfortable.

So I make her Chicken Parmesan and we eat and she plays with the baby and then around nine, the baby falls asleep.

"Am I allowed to shower?" she asks.

"Yeah." I say. "The doctor said you can. He said you're stitched up and to just be careful when you wash your hair."

She nods.

"What if I fall?"

"I'll be right outside the door." I say.

She nods.

I sit outside the bathroom.

After ten minutes of the water not starting, I knock quietly.

"Are you okay?" I ask.

"I don't know how to start the shower." She says.

"Okay. Are you covered?"

"Yes." She says.

Usually, we walk in on each other all the time.

She randomly just joins me in the shower.

She comes in and pees when I'm showering and vice versa. She'll do her makeup while I shower.

I let myself into the bathroom.

"Tyler." She says after I show her how to start the shower.

"Yes?" I look at her.

She kisses me, right on the lips.

I kiss her back, slowly, and then I pull away, staring into her eyes. I run my fingers slowly through her hair.

Her eyes are red and watery, and a tear slide down her cheek.

"I want to remember you." She sniffles. "I really want to remember everything."

"I know, Sunshine." I whisper, my eyes filling with tears.

She sniffles again.

Sighing, I turn around and walk out.

I want to hold her. I want to comfort her.

I want to help her.

I dial Blake.

It rings three times before he picks up.

"Hey man." He says.

I take a deep breath.
