josh doesn't come back for a while.
tyler takes his meds, because josh isn't there to make him feel guilty. he takes them because everyone wants him to except the one who matters most.
"i miss him, mom," he says one day, after he dares to walk down the stairs after what feels like forever. after seven and a half days of no josh.
"i know you do, honey," she says, stroking his hair. tyler hates it. tyler wants to shove her hand away and scream at her. "but i'm so glad you're finally out of that bedroom of yours."
his mom doesn't understand, his mom is happy that he isn't speaking to josh, no matter how hard she tries to hide it.
