Chapter 43

“Oh Amy! You’re here” she said before bursting into tears “I want this baby out Amy!” she wailed

I walked over to her and held her hand “and they will be soon darl! But you have to let Jake in here with you. Remember you both wanted this baby, don’t shut him out now” I told her soothingly

“Listen to your friend dear” the midwife told her whilst smiling at me

“But it’s his fault! And he hasn’t got to push the bloody thing out!” she screamed as another contraction spread through her

“Darl, it’s not his fault is it? You both made this choice and I’m sure if he could, he would push it out. But unfortunately he can’t so that means that you have too. Now be strong and let your husband be there for you”

She seemed to understand what I was saying “and where will you be?” she asked looking worried

“I’ll be right outside waiting for a cuddle” I smiled

“Ok then” she begrudgingly said “let him in”

I smiled, gave her one last squeeze on her hand and walked out of the room “she’s ready for you dad” I smiled

“Thank you Amy” Jake grinned as he went back inside.

I took a sit outside the room and patiently waited. Before long Cal turned up “hello gorgeous, any news?” he asked making me jump as he took a seat next to me. He laughed at me

“Finished?” I asked, he nodded whilst still smiling “everything’s fine she’s 10cm dilated so it’s anytime now really” I told him grinning

“How are you feeling?” he asked

I turned to look at him “I feel fine. I’m really excited for them both” I smiled

“Ok good because I need to talk to you about something…..” Cal started to say but Jake came out of the room

“Guys would you like to come in to meet the new addition?” he beamed

We eagerly got up and followed him through to find Sarah clutching a little bundle “Amy, Cal we would like you to meet George Bailey” Sarah told us smiling.

We crept over to the bed to have a peek and he was gorgeous! “How much does he weigh?” I asked

“He weighs 6lbs 8oz” Jake told us as he watched his newborn son and his wife

“Amy would you like to hold him?” Sarah asked me

I nodded and walked over to her where she placed him in my arms. He felt so small! But as he clutched onto my finger, I felt proud of my best friend. “Sarah he’s gorgeous” I smiled

“I know” she grinned “me and Jake done well hey?” she asked winking at Jake

“Oi stop hogging my godson” Cal laughed as he came over to me. I gently passed George over to him and I could see Cal just melting.

Cal was talking to him but I couldn’t hear what he was saying as he then walked over to Jake so I looked over at Sarah “how are you feeling?” I asked

“Like I just gave birth” she laughed “no I feel amazing actually”

“So you should Sarah. You should be very proud” I smiled

“It will be you one day Amy. Trust me” she beamed

We spent a little bit longer with the new family but then we decided to leave them all to it. We were sat relaxing on the sofa with a glass of wine when Cal turned to me “I think we should try for a baby Amy” he smiled

I looked at him in shock “really?” I asked “why now?”

“Because seeing how happy Jake and Sarah are because of little baby George, I want that for us babe. I want our little bundle of joy that’s half you and half me. I want to start a family”

sniffle sniffle, Broken is coming to an end :( only 2 chapters left! But what a journey ive been on with this book and so many achievements have been reached for me personally!

Im going to be entering this into the Watty's. I probably wont get very far, but no harm in trying hey?!
