A few months ago

She was walking through a dark dense forest. She was scared. Very scared. How do I get out of here, she trembled. Her footsteps speeded. There were noises. Frightening noises around her. She wanted to get out of this darkness. But there was no ray of light or hope found near her. She was trapped in the mindless blackness and gloominess.

Treading through the deep forest, there was a beam of light seen past the trees. She rushed towards the light. She was racing through the tangled weed and now was passing trees with large barbed thorns. She was nearly there... nearly to the light when her dress got caught in a jagged thorn. "Noooo" she screamed, trying to get her dressed detangled from the thorn. She tugged hard and her dress tore. She didn't care it was a small tear. She ran again to the light.

Breathlessly running towards it now. Her calf muscles were aching. She couldn't take it much longer. Just a little more...a little...and when she finally stepped into the light a sigh of relief escaped her quivering lips. Her eyes widened gazing at the surroundings around her. There were green fields everywhere. Blue cloudless sky and the sun was shining brightly. She bent down trying to catch her breath, her hands on her knees and she sensed the sweet fragrance of the spring flowers blooming nearby.

She heard a deep masculine voice from the shadows. "You've made it. I have been waiting for you for so long."

She looked around and saw a tall man standing at a distance under a tree obliterating his face from her view.

"I need you. Come" he said as he beckoned with his hand.

She sauntered towards him warily. Her eyes scanning his appearance, there was something about him. The way he had his hand in his pants pocket and the relaxed posture of his wide shoulders, it was as if she knew him well. Her eyebrows scrunched and her forehead creased, the only man in her life currently was her father. Who was he?

"Who are you?" she questioned out loud.

Even his voice was familiar, "Your heart"

Her hand lingered in the air, undecidedly whether to trust this known stranger. She hesitantly covered his outstretched palm with her hand. He grasped it strongly and stepped away from the shadows closing the distance between them. His black locks falling over his forehead, the bushy eyebrows crowning the black almond shaped eyes were tenderly gazing at her. Recognition dawned on her and she gasped. She started to perspire. She stood still and stunned. But the man stepped closer to her until there was no space between them and wrapped his strong arms around her waist.

"What are you doing?" she swallowed in fright.

"You belong here. You belong with me, Amal." He murmured softly.

His hands splayed on her lower back, gently pulling her closer and he leaned down to kiss her. His lips softly brushing hers.

She was breathing hard as she struggled to sit up, the duvet tangled around her body. With difficulty, she detangled her arms, freed herself and sat up. Sweating and heaving, she gulped in air as much as possible. Her heart was beating rapidly. Closing her eyes, she contemplated, What was that? A nightmare. Yes, definitely a nightmare. Nothing else. Shaitaan (devil) was playing with her mind she reassured herself. With shaking hands, she took hold of her water bottle from the night table and drank. Water trickled down her chin and her throat. Her t-shirt was getting wet. She didn't care.

It just didn't make sense.

Why did she see herself intimately with her brother in law?
