(Hannah) "That's ridiculous."
He crossed his arms too, waiting for her response to his question.
(Hannah) "Stop acting like a lunatic. Always following me around as if you're a lost puppy." – she mumbled the last sentence.
(Christian) "I'm protecting you."
(Hannah) "Well, it bothers me."
In a swift move, he put his hands on her door and leaned closer to her.
(Christian) "I don't care if it does. Because what's important for me is the fact that you're safe. How I do that, though, doesn't really matter."
She couldn't help but to let her eyes travel from his to his lips; his firm, yet looking so soft, lips. Especially when he licked them, showing to her the piercing her made on his tongue when he turned seventeen.
Arianna, his mother, was so mad at him that she temporarily kicked him out. She knew he'd be alright for one night on his own, because she was aware he'd gone to Hannah's house to spend the night. They were together, they've never been on a relationship together but they grew up with each other; Christian was always following her to make sure she was safe.
(Hannah) "I'm late." – she managed to look into his eyes again.
(Christian) "I don't care." – he whispered.
His eyes stopped on her lips for a few seconds but even during those few seconds, he wanted to kiss her deeply and make love to her for the whole night like he had wished his entire life.
(Hannah) "But I do."
Before he could react, she slipped out of his trap and was entering the elevator. He stood straight and they looked at each other before the doors closed but he still managed to say something, loud enough for her to hear.
(Christian) "Sei bellissima, amore mio." (You look beautiful, my love) – he honestly said.
When the doors finally closed, she let the huge grin take over her lips. She knew, very well actually, that he was and ever would be the only person to make her smile like that with just a few words.
She composed herself and when the elevator reached the bottom floor, she got out. She saw the car she was looking for and got inside.
(Elliot) "Hi." – he smiled at her.
She smiled back and kissed his cheek.
(Elliot) "You look beautiful."
Those were the exact words Christian told her when she was in the elevator. But despite them being the same words, they came from different people and had different impacts on her.
She still blushed lightly and he drove to the restaurant he had planned the night before.
(Elliot) "You took a while. I thought you'd changed your mind." – he chuckled nervously.
She flashed him a quick smile.
(Hannah) "No. A... friend showed up unannounced."
(Elliot) "Oh... We can have dinner some other day if you-"
(Hannah) "No! Don't worry. He can wait for his turn."
(Elliot) "He?"
Hannah chose to pretend she didn't hear Elliot's question. The last thing she needed, was to explain to the man beside her how she and Christian met and everything they had been through the years.
Some minutes later, the car stopped and they both got out. Elliot wanted to open the door for her, showing to her that he could be a gentleman but Hannah was faster and once more, she opened the door of the restaurant. Elliot gave his name to the waiter, who then led them through the place until they reached their table. He pulled her chair and she faked a smile, sitting down.
