I stared at the wall. The wall filled with pictures of smiling kids, all doing something funny or stupid in them. Images that hold memories, and to say the least I was in a few. Biting my lip, I turned around on my heel, a huge smile on my face. "Ready or not here I come" I call out, hoping to here a few giggles from Evelyn, but for once I am met with silence.

Surprised on how well the boys aren't making any noise, I slink around downstairs, making sure to not make a sound. Pursing my lips, I stopped suddenly when something caught my attention at the corner of my eye. Quickly spun around, spotting two feet behind the curtain. Silently laughing, I crept over to the window, before pushing the cloth away revealing Evelyn.

Picking up the small girl her laughs resounded through the downstairs as she tried to run away. "To late Eve, I got you. Now how about you go search for your brothers". Releasing the girl, she instantly ran around the house showing me where the boys were hiding. Smiling innocently they groaned, but all ruffling the Evelyn's hair as they were tagged.

Hearing footsteps come down the stairs, I smiled at my foster dad. The older man dressed in his suit and tie, ready to go to work. Smiling at the man, he walked over to where we were in the living room. "Alright kiddo's I am off to work, should be back later tonight". Saluting the man, we waved him goodbye. Watching through the window, Evelyn, Drake, Connor and I waited until he was gone.

Instantly shutting the blinds, Drake grabbed Evelyn, and the four of us sprinted up the stairs into the game room. Switching on the X-Box, all of us grouped together. We were foster siblings, all taken in by Jacob Cramer. His wife Lydia passed away a few years ago, and he took his grief and put into taking care children. Lydia's dream was to have children of her own, and this was the next best thing that Jacob could do to grant his wife's final wish.

Out of the 4 children I was the oldest, but also the first one Jacob fostered. He took me in when I was 6 years old, and I have been grateful to have someone who actually cares. Alongside that I was the one who got the others situated, helped them feel at home. We soon turned into a close bunch, but a part of me always wished that I could find my real dad.

Jacob helped me search for him when I grew older, but anything that was left of my mother's was gone, which meant any evidence of dad was gone too. We were in the middle of mario kart show down, when a noise caught my attention. Quickly pausing the game, everyone looked at me in confusion. "Stay here and don't make a sound". Realizing something was up Drake held Evelyn. Opening the game room door, silence was all that was heard, except for the consistent tick of the clock.

Tip toeing down the hallway, I kept my back against the wall, a loud bang being heard outside of the house. Freezing against the wall, fear started to crawl into my system. Taking a deep breath, I continued making my way downstairs. Opening the curtain slightly, I peaked through the window to see two guys in mask hopping into a tinted out SUV. Spotting a person on the ground, I let out a gasp noticing blood pooling on the ground. "Connor call 911! Someone got shot!". I called out.

As the vehicle sped away from the scene, I caught a few numbers of the license plate. Unlocking the front door, I sprinted out of the house and to the bleeding person. Instantly putting pressure on the wound, the guy beneath me groaned in pain. "Sir, the ambulance should be coming soon. Connor!" I yelled out watching my foster brother come sprinting across the street with some towels.

"Help is on the way, Drake and Eve are staying in the game room.". Nodding in relief, I turned my attention back to the wounded man on the ground. Placing the towel on his wound, I continued to apply pressure. The man's breathing started to become labored, and fear started to blossom inside me once again. Flicking my eyes towards Connor, he held the same expression as me.
