*8 months pregnant*
Zoe's pov
I couldn't believe how long i had been pregnant for, the time just seemed to flash by. I was really surprised that the thought of giving birth didn't give me anxiety.

*9 months pregnant*
"Good morning little one and my other little one" Alfie said as I sat up in bed
"Good morning it's my due date today" I said
"I know today could be the day we meet our little girl" Alfie sat down on the bed next to me.
We leaned in and kissed, I couldn't wait for him to be the dad of our little baby
I was about to pop my belly was so big I could hardly stand up straight let alone walk normally. I know some people say they can feel when they might go into labour but I haven't had any twinges or Brackston Hicks.
"Shall we go into town and get a tea and cake? Alfie asked
"Yeah that would be so nice" I got up and went to get ready, my outfit was a blue stripy maternity dress and I wore a pair of converse the weather was really nice, since it was June.
My makeup was a neautral eye and glossy lips.
We headed into a coffee shop in the lanes.I got a hot chocolate and slice of orange chocolate fudge cake and Alfie got a coffee and brownie.  We had a walk around the shops and picked up some last minute bits for the baby and me. We drove home at around 1pm,
"Did you want any lunch yet?" Alfie asked walking into the living room where I was sitting
"Yes pl... Oww" I got a sharp sudden cramp
"Zo are you alright!" Alfie rushed towards me and felt my belly
"Yeah I think so it was just a twinge, the nurse predicted she might be past her due date so it's to early for birth isn't it" I replied, the pain had gone
"Ok if you say so" Alfie walked out again and started making lunch
About 10 minutes later I got another pain
"Ow Alfie I keep getting twinges" I grabbed Alfie's hand
"Zo do you think your In labour" Alfie asked looking concerned
"Don't be silly I think I'd know if I was in labour" the pain had gone again
The rest of the night I had no more pain.

*2am the next morning*
Zoe's pov
"Oww, my belly" I sat up quickly I got another pain but worse than before
"Zoe what's wrong?" Alfie asked
"My belly is cramping it's gotten worse" I held my belly and breathed through the pain.
"Maybe it's just indigestion I've had it all pregnancy I'll go take some medicine" I stood up from the bed and I felt something wet down my leg. I looked on the floor and I was in a puddle
"Erm, Alfie I think my waters just broke" I stood there frozen in shook and excitement
"WHAT, should I call an ambulance or drive you to the hospital!" Alfie started running  around freaking out
"Alfie calm down I thought I'd be the stressy one in this situation just... Owww" I suddenly got another contraction
"I'll pack your hospital bag in the car and we'll drive to the hospital" Alfie ran  out the room
I struggled around trying to change into my maternity leggings and top to get to the hospital.
Alfie came back in the room and took me to the car. My contractions sped up suddenly they were 3 minutes apart lasting 90 seconds.
"Breath Zoe you can do it" Alfie tried to stay calm
"I AM ALFIE" I screamed
The car stopped, "ALFIE WHAT ARE YOU DOING" I yelled "it's a closed road we have to turn around and go the other way into the hospital" Alfie said
"That's a 30 minute drive" I almost started crying
"I'm sorry little one but..." Alfie started talking when I felt something
"ALFIE I NEED TO PUSH" I screamed
"Just wait till we get to the hospital" Alfie said
It was too late I had taken of my leggings and started to push. The whole process was going so fast, one minute there was no pain then half and hour later I was ready to push. Alfie was speeding as fast as he could he looked so nervous and scared.
The whole drive I got the urge to push.

Alfie's Pov
We turned the corner into the hospital car park, it was quite empty considering the time. I went to park in a space when all of a sudden Zoe have on last push and I heard a cry. I turned around and Zoe had just given birth. Our baby was lying on Zoe's chest the umbilical cord still attached and the car was covered in blood but I didn't care my baby was here.
"Alfie.. She's here"Zoe burst into tears
I quickly pulled the delivery blanket out of the bag and Zoe wrapped up our little girl. She waited In the car whilst I ran for a wheel chair and some help. 2 midwives rushed out the doors holding a wheelchair, they cut the umbilical cord and moved Zoe into the chair before wheeling them both inside.
