Chapter 6

*the next day*
Alfie's Pov
"Are we going to tell the family today?" I asked Zoe as she put on her makeup
"I think we should, we will have to FaceTime my mum and dad because  it's quite a way to drive. Then we can go to your parents house this afternoon and invite poppy and Sean" Zoe replied

*Zoe's Pov*
Alfie and I sat down on the sofa and called my mum on FaceTime
"Hello hunny how are you both?" Mum asked
"We're good thanks, actually we have something I wanted to say" I replied grabbing Alfie's hand
"Im 3 weeks pregnant!" I smiled down the camera. Mums face lit up
"No way are you joking?!" Mum asked "no I'm honestly having a baby" I held up a picture of the scan.
"Here's my little one" I said holding the picture close to my heart
"Oh congratulations I'm so happy for you both" mum said
After mum and me talked a bit more I decided to phone dad aswell, he reacted like mum and was so happy. Joe was at dads so he knew aswell.

"Right shall we head of to my mum and dads now?" Alfie said
"Yeah definetly" we pulled on our coats and shoes then drove to Alfie's parents house.

*at the house*

"Hello, mum it's only us" Alfie called unlocking the door and letting us in,
"Hi sweethearts, how are you both"? His mum asked
"Good, can we sit down? We have an announcement" Alfie said
His mum beckoned us towards the kitchen, we pulled out a chair and sat down just as his dad,poppy and Sean came in. We said hello and got settled
"So we wanted to tell you some exciting news" Alfie said as he looked at me
"I'm 3 weeks pregnant" I said beaming from ear to ear
"OMG no way congratulations you guys !" Poppy squealed
Alfie's mum and dad looked at each other. I was expecting to see a smile but I didn't.

* Alfie's Pov*
my mum and dad didn't say a word.
"Well aren't you happy?" I asked pulling Zoe into my chest for a hug
"Look, Alfie we think your a bit to young for a family at the moment. Only 22" mum said with a disapproving look
"Mum this was planned, we decided that now was as good a time as any to start a family" I said. I felt so gutted my own parents disapproved of their future grandchild
"Sorry Alfie but you know we're traditionalists" dad replied
Zoe's eyes were filling up with tears
" well in that case , we're going to go now, bye everyone" I stood up and lead Zoe to the door. Poppy tried to run after us but dad grabbed her arm and stopped her. We got back in the car and Zoe burst out in tears.
"I..I..I'm so sorry Alfie, this is my fault" Zoe said in between sobs.
"No Zoe it's not, this baby is mine just as much as it is yours. I haven't met the little one yet but I already feel love for him or her." I lifted her chin so we were face to face, we leant in and kissed.
"Let's just go back home, it's a nice afternoon and Nala could do with a walk" I said turning on the car and making our way home.
